Jimmy Nail

Biography: Jimmy Nail was born James Michael Aloysius Bradford in 1954 to mother Laura and father Jimmy. His father was a professional footballer and played for Huddersfield Town. Jimmy was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne. By the time he was 20, Jimmy was into organised football violence and belonged to a gang of hooligans known as The Benders. In the late 1970s was sent to prison for six months for assault. In the early 1980s Jimmy married Miriam Jones. Nail is most recognisable for his role in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet; he played the part of Oz. Initially, he only went along to the casting for the programme for work as an Extra.
