Jimmy Little (II)

Biography: For carpenter Jimmy Little, construction is built in his genes. He grew up in a "construction family" in Manassas, Va. (about 20 miles outside Washington, D.C.), where his father is a contractor who owns his own company and his mother is a supreme multi-tasking dynamo, managing painting and landscaping companies, working for a millwork and lumber supplier, and even managing accounting for his father's business. Jimmy's childhood was thus spent steeped in the world of construction, often building treehouses for himself and his friends. At the age of 10, he even worked along with his father to help build his family's house.
After college, Jimmy left Virginia and took to the road, where he has worked as a stagehand and technical director for touring productions of Broadway shows, including Seussical, Annie, Jekyll & Hyde, Cabaret and Cinderella. Across the five tours, he visited over 300 towns in the United States and Canada. He is a member of the International Alliance of

Across the five tours, he visited over 300 towns in the United States and Canada. He is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. After so much travel, he finally settled in New York City, where he resides with his love, Jenna, and their 1 1/2-year-old Boston terrier, Isabelle Marie.
Jimmy describes his style as retro-modern, with specific inspirations including Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles Eames. He particularly appreciates clean lines, fun shapes and patterns and strives to include them in his work. An avid rock climber and biker, and also a self-professed "computer geek," Jimmy finds an adventure in just about every aspect of life. It's a philosophy he also applies to his work on Town Haul. Says Jimmy, "The people are incredible. They are so proud of their towns, yet they're not offended that we are there to change a few things. That takes someone who has not only trust, but a little sense of adventure as well."
