Jaromir Jagr
Biography:
Born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, Jaromir was chosen fifth overall in the June 1990 NHL draft. Playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jaromir was placed on the top scoring line with soon-to-be Hall of Famer, Mario Lemieux. Together the two achieved early success, leading the Penguins to two back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991-92; Jagr would touch his first cup at the tender age of twenty.
Later down the road, Jagr would become the captain of the Penguins with the first retirement of Mario Lemieux at hand. However, when Mario returned, friction developed between the two. This, coupled with the fact that the Penguins would not be able to assume Jagr's massive salary would see Jaromir traded to the Washington Capitals. However, Jagr would prove to be a disappointment in Washington; missing the playoffs in 2002 and an early first-round exit in 2003. A rebuilding Washington would then trade Jaromir to the New York Rangers, his current team.
