James Coco

Biography: Coco, a rotund, balding American comic actor of stage, screen, and TV, debuted onstage as a child but went on to much other work before making his first adult appearance in New York, in 1957. He landed supporting roles in numerous plays, on and off Broadway and on the road, but gained his first great success in the lead role of Neil Simon's Last of the Red Hot Lovers (1969). Coco debuted on screen in 1964; at first strictly in comic support roles, but by the early '70s he was playing character leads. He starred in two short-lived TV series, Calucci's Department and The Dumplings.
