Ian Keith

Biography: Born Keith Ross, he was a matinee idol on Broadway in the early twenties, leading to an invitation to Hollywood. He debuted onscreen in 1924 and soon became a busy and very popular romantic leading man. In the '30s he gradually moved into character roles, and was still onscreen through the mid '50s; meanwhile he sustained his stage career. He was married to actress Blanche Yurka, and later to actress Ethel Clayton.
