Hillary Brooke

Biography: Born Beatrice Peterson, Brooke was a charming, statuesque, blond leading lady of B-movies and a supporting player in A-movies. Her wavy hair, fixed into an apparently unswept hairdo, became her trademark. Although from Brooklyn, she affected a British accent. She began as a model and stage actress before making her film debut in New Faces of 1937 (1937). Brooke played both comic and dramatic roles and was a regular on the TV series My Little Margie. She retired from the screen in 1960 after she married MGM's general manager, Ray Klune.
