Frank Puglia

Biography: He began performing in Italian opera at age 13, and moved to the U.S. two years later. While he was appearing in an Italian-langauge production of the play The Two Orphans, he was signed by filmmaker D.W. Griffith to appear in the play's film version, Orphans of the Storm (1922). He went on to a busy screen career as a character actor over the next four-plus decades, usually playing foreign men of distinction and quality such as padres, diplomats, etc.; altogether, he appeared in over 200 films.
