Edie Adams
Biography: A singer and actress, Adams' natural beauty and comic talents caught the eye of the television comic genius, Ernie Kovacs, whom she married in 1955. She performed with Kovacs on many of his television shows and appearances throughout his career. She appeared on Broadway and in the films The Apartment (1960) and Lover Come Back (1961). After Kovacs' tragic death in 1962, Adams continued to appear in commercials, television and films, most notably representing her late husband in the comedy epic, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963). She worked hard to alleviate an enormous tax debt levied by the IRS after Kovacs' death and to compile a definitive collection of his television work.
