Deryle Lujan

Biography: Mr. Lujan is from Taos Pueblo in Taos, New Mexico.
Deryle is an actor, artist and horseman. As a child, "I grew up in my grandpa's, no...my dad's paradise. I chopped alot of wood, feed horses, cows and pigs, chickens..I would go fishing and hunting deer and elk in the mountains,and do stuff like jump on horses in the snow. I remember a lot of school, alot of elders, alot of family... I grew up with the gentle guidance of my grandpa and grandma teaching the ways of Taos Pueblo Indian -I honor that." Deryle graduated Taos High School, Class of 1980. He went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Later, Deryle registered at The Institute of American Indian Arts in Sante Fe, NM and joined the 200 Air Defense Artillary Training Brigade "which used to be calvary" of The New Mexico Army National Guard. Deryle started acting in the late 80s by "wrangling horses on the set." He was chosen and moved up to stand-in.
