Chris Carpenter

Biography: Chris is a right-handed pitcher who began his major league career in 1997 with the Toronto Blue Jays. He was drafted by Toronto with the 15th overall pick of the 1993 amateur draft. He would pitch six season with the Blue Jays compiling a record of 49-50 with an ERA of 4.83.

He spent significant time on the disabled list while with the Blue Jays including three separate stints in 2002. He signed with St. Louis and hoped to be ready for the 2003 season, but ended up missing the entire year recovering from surgery for a torn labrum. When he returned, he became the ace that Toronto hoped he would be. In seven season with the Cardinals (2004-2010), Chris has compiled a stellar record of 84-33 with an ERA of 2.98. He won the Cy Young award in 2005 with a record of 21-5 and a 2.83 ERA. In 2006, he finished third in Cy Young balloting and helped St. Louis win the World Series pitching eight shutout innings in Game 3. Chris made the All-Star team in 2005, 2006 and 2010 and
