Buddy Hackett
Biography: Born Leonard Hacker, this stout, amiable, quick-witted comedian and actor began his show business career as a comedian in the Catskill "borscht belt." He eventually became one of the most prominent stand-up comics in the country, enjoying great success in nightclubs and TV guest appearances. He has also worked on the legitimate stage in light character roles. Onscreen from 1953, his film work has been sporadic; most of it was done in the '60s.
