Anne Jeffreys

Biography: Born Anne Jeffreys Carmichael, she began as a Powers model, then debuted onscreen in 1942; over the next six years she played leads in almost four dozen B-movies, then was rarely onscreen again after 1948. She has sung grand opera with the New York City Opera, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and at Brooklyn's Academy of Music. She also starred in some 28 plays, on Broadway and on tour, and appeared in over 100 guest parts on TV. She costarred in the '50s TV series Topper with her husband, actor Robert Sterling; she also costarred in the short-lived '70s series The Delphi Bureau and had a regular role on the soap opera Bright Promise.
