Alexander Morton

Biography: Born in Scotland, actor Alexander Morton received his formal dramatic training at London's Central School of Speech and Drama between 1965 and 1968, but first made his mark over a decade later on British television, in U.K. programs such as Between the Lines, Taggart, Casualty, Second Sight, and the Scottish soap opera Take the High Road. For many years, however, Morton remained best known for his ongoing turn as Golly the gamekeeper in Monarch of the Glen, a role he held between 2000 and 2005. From the early '70s on, Morton also essayed big-screen work from time to time, teaming up on multiple occasions with Mike Hodges for roles in that director's films Get Carter (1971), Croupier (1998), and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (2003). In 2006, Morton played the role of Duncan, a sleazy low-life pedophile, in the gritty thriller London to Brighton.
