It doesn’t necessarily feel as tattered or heart-on-sleeve as the group’s earlier works, but it’s also far more entertaining. You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere is a breakthrough for The Disctricts, and it’s already one of the best albums to be released this year.

This is a fantastic record, and yet another reminder of how good this band are. Nothing seems out of place, not a single riff or beat is wasted. New styles are performed with vigour, and the band sound energised and refreshed. An essential release.

A bold record of resilience. You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere is, in essence, a rock record. But it is a rock record that asks for more, unafraid to scratch that little bit deeper.

This is their most convincing and compelling work to date. Amid all the experimentation of this excellent album, The Districts have hit a new, complex and compelling stride.

An exciting glimpse at where they’re heading next, The Districts are here for keeps and we’re glad.

The Districts leave their comfort zone on You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere but yield results that are almost always fun and engaging. As a project with transition and discovery at its core, You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere nonetheless feels rooted in authenticity.

You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere is a sonic and lyrical breakthrough for the Districts, a record that's years beyond anything else in their catalog.

Longtime Districts fans may well be surprised by the surfaces of You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere, but after a few listens it's clear this music has as much (or maybe more) that connects it to their past than that which separates it from their larger body of work.

What makes You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere frustrating is the knowledge that Grote has all the right ingredients (including Fridmann in this case), but somehow isn’t consistently stringing things together.

Hey Joy, the second track on The Districts' fourth LP, is a moment of near-perfection. ... It's a bar the rest of You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere never quite reaches, though, it comes close. [May 2020, p.106]

I can't remember how I got to know The Districts, but since 2015 with "A Flourish And A Spoil" I have had the pleasure of following the career of this guys that, with happiness, I can say that their music proves once again their knowledge of the euphoria inside maturity. Even if their music is heavy, they characterize for condensing many feelings and life lessons to later explode in sadness, angriness, and happiness with so much energy that it tickles in the ear with joy. Once they helped me to canalize my adolescent emotions and I hope I can always count on them to keep making music that helps people to exploit and free themselves of their tensions.
