Who Waters the Wilting Giving Tree... is a nonstop flow of stunning ideas and performances, without ever getting so heady that the fun and strangeness become alienating.

As much as Who Waters the Giving Wilting Tree relies on attitude, it never feels one-note or settles for mere edginess. Yes, the words are important, if hard to suss out on the first few listens, but so, too, is $ilkmoney’s rapid flow, which mingles anger and excitement so inextricably that they’re impossible to pry apart.

He hasn’t lost a step: WHO WATERS THE WILTING GIVING TREE keeps his signature storminess intact while seeking new contours to his breathless style.

$ilkMoney's new album might well be his best to date. [Oct 2025, p.65]

This album is more grounded than the last: $ilk and Khalil Blu’s arrays into progressive soul, as well as their Soulquarians-style samples and wavy melodies, counterbalance the former’s intensity with a sense of calm befitting introspection. Their refined production creates the kind of depth wherein $ilk’s more personal lyrics can come through.
