The pair have come up with a finely crafted album that blurs the line between shoegaze, indie pop and goth-rock, and is as assured as it is atmospheric. [Dec 2014, p.69]

The Other I is a confident collection of tunes decent enough to warrant keeping an eye on 2:54's future movements.

Whilst making a discernible attempt to liven up their song-craft, 2:54 has definitely returned as a stronger, more endearing band. Sometimes the experiments don't work.

At times its Cure guitars, thudding drums and eerie vocals get lost amid the fog (‘In The Mirror’, ‘South’). But when it finds a solid rock stomp, as on ‘Crest’ or ‘Raptor’, 2:54 loom like a monster in the mist.
