It finds the band cruising along the middle of the road, with occasional interesting detours.

What makes a great album is consistency. It’s not only 1 or 2 or 3 songs that are great. Yes there are better songs than others but it’s all subjective which one you think is best. At the end all of it is brilliant. And cohesive so all of the songs are connected but different. There is no monotony. There’s a range of melody and progression that is unique to every song but at the end it all connects. That’s what makes a great album. It tells a story, and you’re along for the ride.. Full Review »

The album is certainly a keeper, keeps great company and there are nice details to watch for. But for some reason it doesn't grow with me. The opening track and namesake of the album "The Last Exit" is the best track in there and will be totally proved to be one of the best tracks of 2021 by the end of the year.
On the whole: Very good stuff !

    P.S. 1 i would give it a 7.5 score if half-points were an option.
P.S. 2 great for travelling by car.
