Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas' latest masterpiece is dense but unfathomably gorgeous. [Nov 2025, p.28]

The poetic soloing ad celestial melodies of Carried It All Around and woozy, irresistible anthem In Hollywood affirm that The Besnard Lakes are masters of their art. [Dec 2025, p.83]

After almost 20 years together, they’ve produced a record which is both an essential addition to their back catalogue and a hugely rewarding starting point for anyone who has yet to become familiar with their work.

The Besnard Lakes Are the Ghost Nation is another solid addition to a consistently strong discography. It doesn’t quite hit the heights of my personal favorite, Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO, but it certainly comes close.

Another lovely soundscape of grandiose ambition and granular emotion, grounded as always by the husband and wife team of Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas.

The ghost Nation majors in slow-burn melodies that soar serenely, with nothing edging excessively over the seven-minute mark and the band maintaining a majestically unhurried pace. [Dec 2025, p.100]
