While “Ten Days” is as full of collaborations and other voices as the multiple projects he’s released since the last installment of “Actual Life,” it truly feels like a return to his greatest strengths.

Does ‘ten days’ elevate the modern dance album? It unequivocally does. It’s built from connection and collaboration. It explores the contours of the dancefloor whilst never forgoing its gushy, human centre.
  3. He pushes deeper and comes up with something that’s both poignant and fun in equal measure – a solid gold record that leans into the little moments and produces pure, emotional magic that will ensure many more “biggg mad crazy” times in Fred Again..’s future ahead.

Ten Days is an electronic album more than a dance album—it’s meant for listening, and even when he foregrounds the beats, they’re always part of a larger and often busy picture. There’s a lot of aural haziness here, a filtered-light psychedelia redolent of the edible era, and an arsenal of guest vocalists.

Although ten days shows a more subdued form of this euphoria, the personality and intricate storytelling has not faded.

ten days finds him in a state of flux, running through a variety of styles, and while the results aren’t perfect it’s certainly his most interesting album yet.

The tracks that feel like direct tributes to older, better tunes tend to fare better than the majority of the album, which is hugely sentimental but never sufficiently sharpens its edges to counteract all that mush.
