    While Breathin and Everytime remain the standout tracks from the record. There is no other song which is single worthy. No Tears and God is a Woman were chosen well to serve as singles. Max Martin should have been more involved on the album compared to Pharrell whose production practically ruined the album. If you think you don't like this album, just listen to it again. it will take some time to grow on you. This album covers sensitive topics and serves amazing vocals.     Ariana wanted Sweetener to have a different sound from anything she has released before and although she succeeded in that as there isn't anything else out right now that sounds similar, it misses the mark. I am a huge fan of Ariana but i am very disappointed in this album. It's full of unsatisfying production, which is not her fault entirely. Of course there were some stand outs on this album that were excellent such as Breathin, Everytime and Goodnight n Go that showed her talent and abilities but there just isnt enough in this album. I expected better, especially after no tears left to cry and God is a woman were amazing singles that I still love to this day. I hope she never goes to Pharrell ever again as it didnt work out. Dangerous Woman remains her best album for its cohesiveness, production, vocal ability and bops. Hopefully Sweetener grows on me.

    a beautiful enigma of r&b and pop. i was left speechless and in tears! truly her most mature album, i am so impressed. she really came to tell her story. it has such a different, unique sound. it is nothing like the pop hits she has released in past eras, and that is definitely not a bad thing!

    This is not Ariana’s best album, however she came with something really different from her other albums and I appreciate that. I also think that Breathin is the only song that could do well as a single.

    This is Ariana’s best album to date. Those complaining are the same ones who wanted her to experiment and move away from pop, and now she has no one is happy? Ariana has clearly worked on this project for a while and put all her best efforts into it. The production, vocals and lyrics are her best to date. Notable tracks: Breathin, Get Well Soon & R.E.M.

    The Ariana voice gave you an interesting contrast between the rhythms and lyrics. Something more mature than her last album, but still exactly the same with another producers.
    Raindrops haves a big potencial, that's been lose in only 37 seconds. Blazed sounds with the Pharrel touch, not bad. The Light Is Coming is the exposure of how it works experimental Ariana. Until then God Is A Woman and Sweetener let you a "sweet savior". Finally, the best part is No Tears Left To Cry, there's no words to explain it.

    Her best and most cohesive album to date. Lyrics, production and vocals are out of this world. If you're doubtful I sincerely suggest giving it a few more listens before deciding; almost all of the songs are growers and take some time to be fully appreciated. She has come so far since Problem and Bang Bang and has for sure gained a new fan with this album.

    Honestly her best album yet. The message behind the album is so powerful and meaningful!! It’s such a new sound for ariana and i don’t think that’s a reason for other people to hate on it saying it’s ‘boring’ and made with ‘horrible production’.     this is Ariana’s BEST ALBUM. In her voice you can hear all the emotion and vibes she’s trying to put across . It’s something new and fresh and easily her best work to date. She has explored with different types of music and made it personal yet individual. Definitely the album of the year. BUY AND STREAM SWEETENER YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

    Yeah this was a pretty huge miss. I only ended up liking 3 songs - ntlc,breathin and god is a woman. Dangerous woman was a 100x better than this even though the writing was equally weak. From this its safe to say Max Martin has lost his zing. i had a feeling this album was going to struggle considering how pathetic Taylor's album was (which was also produced by Max) .     Ariana just did THAT, I don't have words to describe how much I like this album and this came just hours ago, I think this will be her most successful era, she worked with a new producer (Pharrell Williams) and I think the result is such a blessing. Congratulations Ariana.

    Ariana has certainly grown as an artist. Instead of releasing the same pop-sounding album again, she has really evolved and experimented. Fans of other artists who are bashing this album without even probably listening or wanting to like it are pathetic. This is her most wholesome and cohesive album, and it includes quality pop jams to pure R&B perfection. She really snapped.

    Ariana told us to expect the unexpected, and **** she was right! I'm so pleasantly surprised with the songs on this album and can't really say which one I would skip. She's explored so many different topics and feelings and sounds with this in a way that's so much more established to her previous albums and it's definitely a lot more cohesive which is something I felt DW lacked. One song that's really surprised me is Successful. I'd have expected it to be this huge girl power anthem but it's more of a light, bubbly, playful track. I still find it effective in empowering because not all empowerment songs need to scream at you that you're worth it and amazing, this is more of a "note to self" type of song and the chorus is the one thing thats been ringing in my ears more than any other track since I first listened to the album 6 hours ago. I also find the backing track makes me think a lot of Animal Crossing in a delightful way, it's just so adorable. I have yet to determine a Top 5 but I know for sure that Better Off has earned a spot. In my mind it's familiar to works by Imogen Heap, which makes it fitting that this song is followed by Goodnight n Go which samples one of her songs. It's definitely the most melancholic song on the album and is definitely something a lot of people can relate to with at least one relationship they go through in their lifetime. Overall she has done me so proud with this one and she's incorporated all of the things on my wishlist of what the other three albums lacked which was the maturity in Yours Truly, the overuse of collabs and not exploring any topics other than sex on My Everything, and the absence of cohesiveness in Dangerous Woman. And props to her as her vocals improve every album, she becomes more and more effortless as time goes on.… Expand

    This is way better than you are all saying it is. Songs like ‘breathin’, ‘better off’, ‘everytime’, ‘goodnight n go’ and ‘r.e.m.’ are career highlights and ariana takes a more different approach than her big poppy choruses on songs like ‘sweetener’, ‘successful’ and ‘get well soon’.

    I'm so dissapointed. For the most part It's just redundant, repetitive, lethargic music. I only like Breathin and Everytime from the new songs. I thought this would be her best album. So many months of hype for this. Ari honey, next time just drop the album with no promo and call it a day.

    Definitely a 5.5/10 for me. The singles were good to start off with (besides of TLIC which was mediocre) and created a false sense that this album would be strong. Most of the album cuts sounded repetitive, and the ballads, lyrically, had no soul for me. The album is definitely her worst and average at best.

    Stop putting your effort on degrading this album, pressed fans of other artists. This album is not the conventional pop sound and that's what I love most about Ariana. She always explore and experiment new sounds and not cling to what the general public wants her to be. This album is gonna be legendary, and I can smell the grammys.

I was expecting a lot as she was talking about it like it was a masterpiece, I genuinely thought that Sweetener might even be able to top Dangerous Woman. But it's her worst album. In all the years that I've followed her, she never was able to disappoint me this much. Vocally, there isn't anything special except for some ad libs. The songs lack powerful and/or catchy choruses, and when they're catchy ("The Light Is Coming"), they're just annoying and extremely repetitive. The album has a way too similar production towards each other. Pharrell is now known to me as the worst pop producer out there. Yes, it might not be basic generic pop, but the songs are still generic. The production is boring and lacks too much to keep you interested making it sound like a collection of fillers.

    No tears left to cry, god is a woman and breathin are the only traces worthy of note. The tracks produced by Pharrell are at times unlistenable and annoying. And there is also a song trashed by Beyoncé. This album is not comparable to her previous works, which instead are real pop-gems.

    Great album by a great artist. Even though the first listen is weird, the more you listen the better it gets. At least she explores new sounds, not as most of the singers of her generation, who are stuck in the same EDM/Pop sound.

    Ariana doesn't use the same formulaic materials to make an album, she explores different sound and avenues to create new music. It's absolutely amazing to see her grow from pure pop to more of an R&B sound, but still keep it fresh with her timeless vocals.

    This album is excellent. Not only does it exude a new bolstering confidence throughout the 15 new tracks, but it further reiterates the fact that Ariana's unique blend of trap, pop and R&B is (and has remained) unmatched. Recording Academy will be definitely eyeing this up for album of the year nominee (along with Black Panther OST, Dirty Computer and Reputation).

    sweetener is the most different worl from Ariana. The album literally brings us a sweetening experience, ahowing happiness and courage in the musics. the music sounds different from the other albuns, but this don’t make it the worst, of course, one of the best. CONGRATS ON DIS AMAZINGGG ALBUMMMM

    é um ótimo álbum, com certeza um dos melhores que já ouvi, Ariana veio com um estilo diferente, dançante e calma ao mesmo tempo, músicas com significados importantes e com letras bonitas de auto ajuda e românticas, sem dúvida um dos melhores trabalhos dela!

Мне нравится, как она совместила экспериментальный шаг вперёд сОпределённо работа высого уровня. Альбом магически завораживающий, чувственный и по-настоящему сладкий в своём оптимизме. Это то, чего так не хватает в тёмные времена и серые будни. Светлый взгляд в будущее, проблеск надежды и умиротворение. Ариана в очередной раз доказала, что умеет делать качественную музыку. Мне нравится, как она совместила экспериментальный шаг вперёд с ностальгическими нотками "Yours Truly", как играла со своим голосом, делая его и страстным, и убаюкивающим. Альбом выдержан в одном стиле, песни гармонируют между собой, везде можно найти что-то общее, но в то же время и индивидуальное. Исполняя этот альбом, Ариана возносится на вершины и приглашает нас разделить с ней путь через тернии к звёздам. Такую музыку надо не просто послушать, а искренне прочувствовать душой. Ариана - многогранный артист, и я вижу в ней ещё много нераскрытого потенциала. Не сомневаюсь, что она продолжит открывать в себе новые грани, и с интересом буду следить за её путешествием по музыкальному миру.… Expand

    This album shows Ariana’s growth as an artist. The music production is interesting and fresh. Lyrics are fun, youthful, and endearingly lightening. The project also showcases her vocal proewess with the flawless runs. Plus the album is very cohesive! Well done Ariana!

    This is highkey the best album of 2018 so far and Ariana really managed to explore new genres and it's really good! I'm so happy she's back. She could even go and run for The Grammys and even snatch more than one, Pharrell production was good but hopefully she won't collaborate with him again, I prefer her to stick with Max Martin and Savan. But it's still THE Album of the year.! 10/10

The album's best tracks are nothing compared to the lows of her previous studio album, Dangerous Woman.… Expand

    Grande’s new sound, the Williams-produced Not-Bangers, only make up half of the album. These standout tracks are interspersed between standard pop tracks. ... That’s not to say that the Bangers on Sweetener are bad--it’s more that they belong in previous era of Grande and they spoil the flow between songs. Sweetener may not be the dawning of a new age for Ariana but it could be a step towards somewhere weird and wonderful.

    Ms. Grande backs up her statements with song-and-dance mastery. ... She’s her own choir, support group and posse. While a few guest vocalists (Mr. Williams, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott) provide a little grit for contrast, Ms. Grande sails above any fray, past or present. Her aplomb is her triumph.
