    If there's any justice for a singer-songwriter who deserves credit for growing as an artist, Ray will pick up two or three new fans for every fan who dismisses Supernova because it's different. Pop artists ride the wave until it ebbs; serious artists look for new shores. I am a new fan after listening to this album!

    Like [Beck's] Morning Phase, even Supernova’s failures prove an interesting listen, and when LaMontagne hits his stride, it’s an album that contains some of his best material in years.
