With breathy singing and lush production as the connecting skein, Stupid Things That Mean the World puts Bowness firmly on the same level as David Sylvian, Peter Gabriel and other masters of adapting high art to accessible pop.

This is a beautiful, cohesive album that stirs so many emotions and speaks for itself. It might not be as immediate or as catchy as ADD, but does the most important thing: paving new grounds.

Stupid Things That Mean the World is another masterpiece in the discography of a true visionary.

The more restrained, and slightly less expansive feel, of some of the tracks here perhaps makes the record as a whole feel slightly undercooked in comparison to its predecessor. Nevertheless it is another fine entry into the enviable discography of one of the most sadly underrated of British songwriters.

It’s an absorbing, plaintive record that gets under your skin.

Bowness's delivery on the more subdued material tends to revisit similar melodic cadences, but when the musicians inject more energy, as on The Great Electric Teenage Dream and the gorgeous Sing To Me, the music is transported to a different level. [Sep 2015, p.90]

Tim Bowness is a great English musician and producer who works a long with Steven Wilson in many projects such as No-Man. This time heTim Bowness is a great English musician and producer who works a long with Steven Wilson in many projects such as No-Man. This time he represented this album that I massively interested in. Composition, concepts and ideas, lyrics, mixing and mastering the project and everything in this album honestly is a perfect job. I really love this music album and very into the fantasies and stories in the lyrics. `where you have always been` and `At the end of the holiday` are my bloody favourite songs in this album. Expand
