For a band who ultimately decided to soldier on, the album can feel unbalanced, but still delivers all the belting feel-good choruses that made you fall in love with the Arizona crew back in 2009. [Mar 2016, p.100]

There's that sense of uncertainty on the entire album, which serves as both an extended trip down memory lane and, perhaps, a goodbye. But whether this is simply a bookend before a new phase or a complete finish is up in the air. Either way, Stories for Monday is a total celebration.

The Summer Set have conjured up a bubblegum-stained blast of modern pop rock that sounds just as good at the start of the weekend as it does at the end.

All Downhill From Here should have been track two, not seven because [Figure Me Out] is unbeatable. ... Skip this one [Missin' You] if you're a fan of One Direction. Guys, guitars... use them. [2 Apr 2016, p.51]

I love the Summer Set's previous work but this is a train wreck, There's a few tracks that can be salvaged but for the most part, it's bad. Figure Me Out, The Night Is Young and Change Your Mind are the only tracks that really feel like the traditional Summer Set. Full Review »

Stories for Monday is a joyously sad album, full of sing-along choruses and shimmering pop production. There's a lot of pop-rock flourishes here, indicative of musical professionalism. The lead singer has a lovely falsetto voice, capable of conveying huge emotions while still sounding authentic. Another characteristic I really loved about this record was the prominent inclusion of piano on several tracks. The whole album feels so genuine and energetic! I highly recommend this record to everyone! Full Review »
