    Easily the most beautiful and heartbreaking record of the year, some kind of peace is a gorgeous mix of soft EDM and New Age, dominated by piano, strings, and ambient soundscapes. While mostly an instrumental venture that spiritually echoes last year’s Ghosteen, the vocalist-featured songs sound as if they have been lifted from Bjork’s Homogenic and Radiohead’s In Rainbows. It’s aEasily the most beautiful and heartbreaking record of the year, some kind of peace is a gorgeous mix of soft EDM and New Age, dominated by piano, strings, and ambient soundscapes.     Using simple piano motifs and minor key strings augmented with electronics and voice, some kind of peace is an album of delicate beauty. It is beguiling in the way it shifts focus between the general and specific.

    Even with the occasional programmed drums, some kind of peace is a consistently tranquil set, with enough shape and variety to the tracks to stave off ambient or easy listening claims.
