    This album is one of most brilliants of this year. Amazing, funny and happy, we don’t need a sad albums in this moment and Katy Perry understand that.

    Listening to the album, it looks as if Katy is in a better shape than she was a few years ago. It might have become clear that she might not be a record breaker anymore, however, I think it is much more important to make music that reflects the artist’s feelings and emotions. “Smile” has definitely made me smile.     El Álbum Smile es muy bueno, tiene canciones grandiosa y me gustó mucho la temática. Katy Perry sin duda nos está dando uno de los mejores álbumes del año y eso me da mucha alegría.

    The brand of KATY PERRY is back and better than ever with her Smile. The album is one of the only albums this year that actually tells a story, the plot of the songs have meaning. This album is about Katy’s experience during the hardest years of her personal and career life and how she was able to come out of it and truly smile again. Tracks like “Cry About It Later” and “Teary Eyes” helpThe brand of KATY PERRY is back and better than ever with her Smile. The album is one of the only albums this year that actually tells a story, the plot of the songs have meaning. This album is about Katy’s experience during the hardest years of her personal and career life and how she was able to come out of it and truly smile again. Tracks like “Cry About It Later” and “Teary Eyes” help unfold the first act of the album which shows her dealing with unhappiness but having to keep going for her career and well-being and just trying to ignore her sadness. The second act of the album is opened by her iTunes number one single “Daisies” and track 5 on the album “Resilient”. These songs are the empowerment stories of the album. Resilient explains Katy’s way of pushing back the hate and hard times she’s experienced and ultimately being resilient and pushing through to grow through the cracks that have hurt her. “I know the higher I climb, the harder the wind blows” is a lyric from Resilient and is explaining that when you reach your peak, is when life hits you the hardest. This is the middle of the album because Katy is past the sadness and she is using all her confidence and strength to push through to find her happiness again. Finally, Act III of the album is introduced by the title track “Smile”. The song is about how Katy got her smile back and that she’s grateful for her life. During the third act, we experience a release of pop bangers such as “Tucked” and “Only Love” that introduce the most pop-sounding and happy songs on the album. This album is outstanding in the way the songs are listed and structured to tell a specific story which is really hard to pull of and yet, Perry pulls it off again.… Expand

Her best album, her sound has really matured over the years, the lyrics are straight forward, she talks about hate she got from the public in 2017 when witness was released even though it was an amazing album. And it shows the light and that she can get through it. Such an amazing album, my top 3 right now is champagne problems, resilient, cry about it later. 10/10 Katy! Tysm… Expand

    The best album of Katy Perry out of all her discography. The lyrics and sounds are produced well. Every songs have meaningful meanings. Inspiring and light-hearted.

    This album should have been left in the drafts...no new sounds. No new message. No ‘Smile’ from this listener...her face on the cover is the face I had through this album.

    The album is a clear evolution and a step forward for Katy. The album has many pop hits, but the lyrical content is the thing that's thriving, telling a lovely story. Bop or listen, this album has both.

    This is Katy’s most bright and just technicolor feeling album. The sound is so different than anything we’ve ever heard from her; the 80’s influences are to die for. Tucked, Champagne Problems & Only Love reign superior. I’ll admit I was hoping we wouldn’t see any of the droplets on this album because I wanted more songs we katykats haven’t heard but here we are.     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
