    I love this record. It seems like Katy Perry can truly be herself in this era after such a difficult time after Witness. I had problems and found it really hard to deal with that mess in the past so I can feel the empathy. I can say SMILE is my non-skip playlist, which Teenage Dream and Prism can't be. Each song is a story about re-finding yourself, get your smile back after somethingI love this record. It seems like Katy Perry can truly be herself in this era after such a difficult time after Witness.     Minha faixa de maior destaque vai para "Not The End Of The World" que sem dúvidas, eu escolheria como próximo single para divulgação do álbum. A música é uma grande aposta para as pistas de danças, a PONTE é o maior destaque da música. Sem falar da letra, que é um maior deboche da Katy, em questão de críticas que ela recebe.

    Sinceramente? O SMILE é o melhor álbum lançado neste ano! Me sinto grato de tá ouvindo um álbum sincero e extremamente importante, para uma artista como Katy Perry.

    This is just so devoid of anything meaningful. Daisies is the only song on this album with any sort of meaning. This really ended up worse than Witness.

    This album is a very healing album, and I’m glad to see Katy in a much better place than she was before. Most don’t understand Katy’s intent was to simply make music for herself rather than others. I’m disappointed in the critics because this album is actually really good. Katy deserves more after Witness ♥️

My favourite tracks are: Never Really Over, Teary Eyes, Resilient, What Makes a Woman and High on Your Supply. The production is fantastic and the sound is versatile and also reminiscent of her past work, with some of the tracks reminding me of disco. The lyrics are soulful and tell a cohesive story that might resonate with yours. She finally detached herself from wanting to chart at all costs and has started focusing on her craft.     Although I do appreciate her bravery for not resorting to Ariana Grande or Black Pink in blatant desperation for a hit after the backlash of her last album, I still find this album desperate for approval so much so that there is absolutely no excitement nor innovation to be found.     There's a reason if Katy's not getting the commercial success she used to in Teenage Dream. She's never evolved musically. She's always playing it safe. This album makes no exception : It is a bland pop record that just sounds like some Teenage dream B-sides. The only way she could get out of this critical and commercial flop curse would be to surprise her public with a more audacity.

    O sorriso amarelou? Nem tanto. Katy entregou um álbum divertido e até interessante. Senti algumas boas mudanças dos álbuns interiores, mas ela entregando um pop um pouco mais maduro seria algo maravilhoso e que eu iria querer muito escutar. "Never Really Over" tá aí de prova que ela pode fazer isso e muito mais. Enfim, a felicidade da artista vem em primeiro lugar.

    It is what it is, this album has a lot to give even more in this dark times, there is such a story between the layout of the songs and lyrics, that it is such a great great album.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
