Lyrically there is so much depth and a lot of important and powerful messages, especially at this time! Critics opinions are not professional and the subjectivity means nothing. Surprisingly, the weakest track on the album would be the title song and thatAMAZING! A brilliant body of work, sonically cohesive.     A Step up from Witness, with music straight from Katy Perry's heart like Daisies, What Makes a Woman, Resliant, Its not the End Of the World. After the abuse she suffered from General Public for basically nothing she finally has her smile back and I love to see, Katy Perry is incredible and this Album is beautiful with Zero Skips

    The best album of Katy Perry so far! Both production and lyrics are phenomenal. My personal favorite Not the End of the World sounds like it came straight out of a movie. The album tracks represent Katy’s personal journey through depression and coming out of it, finding back her SMILE.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
