    The most cohesive pop album i have heard in years.

    With the release of the chart-topping single “Lose You to Love Me” we were already promised a personal dive into Gomez’s life for the past half decade on this album. With the first listen of the album, It already sounds like she fulfilled these promises and it was most definitely worth the wait. The album opener & title track “Rare” itself is a highlight moment and from there the album flows so perfectly until the end, “A Sweater Place” which leaves us excited for the next chapter. This album deserves recognition, not because it’s a Selena Gomez’s album, but because it’s a great pop record that will be remembered in years for its originality & passion sound and that’s why we need to celebrate this album now as to encourage other pop stars to follow more unique paths like Gomez did with this Rare.    … Expand

    Rare is clearly her best work and an exceptional pop album. The growth demonstrated from Revival to Rare is the reason why her music is still so impactful. From the production to lyrics to her voice, only Gomez could make this album so great.

    This is amazing. It's beautiful, empowering, fun and vulnerable. There's not a single bad song and even though they sound so different they're still sonically cohesive. Such a masterpiece. I'm in love.

    It's such an amazing album. There is no basic generic boring song at all. It's so unique. It's literally Selena's type of song. An album with no skip. I love it.

    Selena shows a very, very sultry and confident side with this album. A very disco dance vibe. The songs might be about love and discovering you deserve much better in life than what happens to you, but the lyrics are still different and cool. The production is clean and doesn't overpower her voice. It takes two or three listens to catch on!

    It's a MASTERPIECE. Her best album. So rare and special. Since I was a little kid I know Selena would be someone amazing. With this album she confirmed I wasn't wrong. This album is something bigger than anything we've heard from her before. The waiting was really worth it.

I was already having high expectations and expecting the unexpecting but she blew all those from me... Cause RARE is something unique and fresh and raw.... All the lyrics are very relatable and very EMPOWERING.... All the tracks from the album has its own identity and all those tracksSpeechless & Mind-blowing..... This Is totally a new sound, just like she did with Look at her now, I think I have never listen something with this style, the lyrics are so good, the production Is IN.SA.NE , its not repetitive.     Selena continues to do the unexpected, expand the boundaries of what pop music can be, and set trends that we’ll be hearing a lot of in the near future. Every song has it’s own individuality and yet they all blend perfectly together to make an ethereal sonically cohesive pop masterpiece, something we haven’t seen since Taylor Swift’s “1989.”

    While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
