The whole project gives bad girl vibes. The sounds are rare. The production is rare. Selena's voice is rare! And I LOVE IT. LYTLM is a masterpiece; a song that creates such deep emotions and I bet many cried while listening to the ROTY. Crowded room is such a cute song. While Fun and kinda crazy are here, I don't feel that they don't belong because they are rare. They belong on this albumThe whole project gives bad girl vibes. The sounds are rare. Ring should be praised and appreciated by its lyrics. Vulnerable is such a powerful song for many many people. Cut you off is needy and LAHN is a bop. Expand

I really loved this album, I've been a selenator since 2014 when she released "the heart wants what it wants". Every single song is a bop,my favorites are vulnerable, dance again and cut you off. She puts her emotions and feelings in this project and she worked so hard to do this. Love her and her music.

I am obsessed with this album!! I feel like Selena always has such raw emotion in her voice as she sings, and it really helps me connect with her music. This album was worth the wait, and for me there wasn’t one song I didn’t like!!

I was very disappointed because I’ve been a fan of hers since...I don’t even know how long. I gave the album another listen, it got better and better with each listen. What really changed my entire view on this album, was the lyrics. When I looked up the lyrics to each song and gave it another fresh listen after, I recognized the beautiful body of work that this woman has made. I felt each line of each song so deeply that it was Almost scary like it was made for me. And with the deluxe edition now out, it’s even more incredible. Give it a listen and really listen to what is being said, past the fun poppy, soulful production. This album is a great listen. Expand

I love how she is vulnerable on this album
It’s really rare when artists just say what they feel and don’t just do an album to make one like the last one from Ariana G

Rare continually teases intriguing forays into leftfield pop, but so many of the album’s experiments come off as just that, without ever crystallizing with memorable hooks.

The record she has delivered to kickstart a new decade is a career defining release, and from a pop star who is firmly back on top of her game.

While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
