Best album of her career! Her voice is so comforting and you feel the needy to dance in almost all the songs.

When we got LYTLM as the lead single, we all expected the album to be something extra deep and emotional, but, when we listen to the whole body of work it’s possible to see that’s completely superficial, with weak lyrics that sound kinda juvenile... “I think you’re kinda crazy ... you’re acting super shady...” Majority of the songs lack substance, and it was really disappointing to me. She’s like “oh wow i’m super amazing lala you’re a bummer” but she doesn’t develop around this, it just dies there, as some childish lyrics. Some songs are really tiring and boring. But, there are still some good songs as: LYTLM, Ring & Cut you off. In these tracks she did THAT! She could’ve done an incredible album, but, this ain’t it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gomez mentioned that she has worked hard for four years to come up with an album but I don't think she did. Most songs are fillers and only "ring" and "vulnerable" stand out. The album doesn't reflect upon her personality and the lyrics sometimes don't make any sense. She could've done better. Expand

Rare is a sublime piece of art with experimental, breathy and ethnic pop sounds, definitely not appropriate for mainstream ears. Take a ride into the deepness of Selena's best project to date.

Average, filler songs. A quite faceless pop album. No stand out tracks beside the lead single

This album is horrible, a total mess, completely decadent and nonsense, we seldom have the courage of selena gomez to release an album with 0 visual and sound impact.

I waited almost 5 years for this album and what I can say is that every moment was worth it, Rare is perfect, since Revival came out in 2015 Selena grew musically in terms of her lyrics and her style and tells her story in these 13 songs.

I was not surprised, it was less than I expected, the lyrics are good, but to some extent they talk about the same. The music, simple and does not catch, except for 3 songs.
It does not reach the impact and quality that Revival had.

This album is basura, nada innovador, solo canciones dedicadas para su ex, de paso que no incluyó Feel Me.

The perfect pop album with dance tracks that actually have meaningful lyrics! Selena has found her sound and her unique vocals are in full force on her tracks like Lose You to Love Me and Vulnerable. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.
Sobre o álbum em questão, gostei apenas de 4 tracks além do lead single 'Lose You To Love Me'. Dance Again, Vulnerable, Crowded Room e a minha favorita, Cut You Off. Espero que ela não demore muito o a lançar um outro álbum e que ela não fique na dependência de Julia Michaels...

It is his most personal, honest and creative work to date, personally I´m a huge fan and ´ve been waiting for this album almost 5 years. She actually killed it, this is full of bops, that tell where she is right now. So proud of her.

Rare continually teases intriguing forays into leftfield pop, but so many of the album’s experiments come off as just that, without ever crystallizing with memorable hooks.

The record she has delivered to kickstart a new decade is a career defining release, and from a pop star who is firmly back on top of her game.

While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
