A very cohesive album, Selena shows us once again how she's not afraid to try new sounds and take risks, which i personally love most about her as an artist. What a way to start the new decade.     I’m not the biggest fan of pop music in general, but this album is gold! Almost every track on it is a banger, the production is just wow. Also Selena’s lyrical content has improved a lot since her last album Revival, and for me this album tops the last one to be honest.

    Definitely her best body of work she has ever released. Every song has a different sound which makes the album really versatile, but it still sounds cohesive as a whole. You can also see the artistic growth from her previous works. Mature, vulnerable, sophisticated and powerful would be the best words to describe it. 10/10

    i'm very impressed by selena's growth this time! wow! i've been discussing the album with my friends since it came out, and based on our personal favorites & rankings it's pretty clear that this album has a something for everyone. I haven't been keeping up with selena's life or know much about her experiences but i can feel how authentic & honest she is with this album. I'm in love! :)

    Rare is so far Selena's best album, love everything about the songs, the lyrics and melodies... She definitely has so much grown on the album, you can see that she finds her voice and what she wants to sound like. 10/10

    While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
