    An amazing and cohesive album. Selena is comfortable in her vocal range and the lyrics are ripe. Clearly we can see how personal this album is and how Selena has been able to evolve in recent years.

    Brilliantly written and produced, it sounds like a journey of transformation and acceptance where each episode has its own distinctive sound. Other than Lose You To Love Me, the songs are mid- to upbeat, they’re fun, they’re catchy, and even if one or two won’t convince you at first listen, the hooks will stay in your mind and will grow on you. All killers, no fillers.

    Rare is Gomez' best work to date. With its honest and vulnerable lyrics, the album is being carried by flowing RnB sounds. It's a very cohesive album and her voice is soothing. One of the best albums i've heard.

    Absolutely loved the album! There were no skips and the lyrical content was by far her best body of work. It was one of the most relatable album I’ve heard in a while and I’m so proud of all the things she has overcome.

    Rare is an amazing album and truth be told she might have topped her previous album Revival. Sure she kept us waiting 4 1/2 years but it was definitely worth the wait. She turned her trauma over the past 4 1/2 years into a beautiful album. Not many people can do that. My top 3 on the album would be People you know, Dance Again, and Vulnerable. Each song thelma a different story. 10/10 album

It’s so hard to pick a favorite song on this album, but my top three are a sweeter place, crowded room, and dance again. Each song has a memorable line, and just hits hard on how the lyrics can speak to you and how much others and I could relate. Selena Gomez has for sure found her sound, Rare is now my favorite album by her, this album has no skips! Each song on this album has its own story, you can’t even compare on which song is better, because each song carries its own title and have its own weight. The features are AMAZING loved the works of 6LACK and Kid Cudi they absolutely made the album even more better (my two worlds colliding!!). It’s so nice And refreshing to hear something new for pop music when i usually HATE pop music and more of a hip hop/rap person, and Selena has definitely brought pop music back to me. So yes I recommend this album for people to listen, it has such a feel good vibe.… Expand

    While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
