Songs so odd and cheekily gleeful they could almost be Mentos jingles.
-
This French quartet specializes in bubbly AM indie-pop that gives it more the feel of a male-fronted version of the Cardigans.
-
Thankfully, this is more absurd than mawkish, made even better by the fact that Tahiti 80 are French people singing in English, and therefore do not always make sense.
-
Puzzle gels the Kinks/Beatles sound the group obviously adores with something less dusty. Think the Sea and Cake playing with the Stone Roses. Or a chartier Belle and Sebastian.
-
There's some buzzing and belling on "Puzzle," some crimped cracking that doubles as new wave, but for the most part, it's California dreaming at its dumbest.

Q MagazineSounds something like a male-fronted Cardigans... [Aug 2001, p.141]
-
This stuff is too cute for its own damn good.
-
France's Tahiti 80 seem so enamoured with their musical idols that they can barely voice a personal touch of their own.
