This is far from my expectation. It's light but sound the same. There are 3 okay songs on this album and that's it. Thank u, next remains superior. I was expecting more than thank u, next.

as good and sincere as a sweetener, she excels more and more, I see that as if it were her cure after thank u next, sincere lyrics and what I need, she knows how to do it like no one else

top3 álbuns da carreira, demonstra ser mais madura, e a crítica tá simplesmente achando ruim pelo fato de acharem que ela DEVE fazer pop e produzir hits

In general it's a good work but it seems to me that it lacks in some aspects. The whole album seems to have the same songs with the same subjects as always. Sounds better than her previous one but its lyrics could be better.

This is probably the most underwhelming work Ariana has ever put out. While Sweetener was divisive, it still managed to be both creative and distinctive and, as a result, songs had their own personalities. Perfection, her last two albums she sang about wanting to heal and looking for the light, and on positions you can hear that she has found it.

Not on Ariana's comfort zone, that's why it's different from her whole discography, getting closer to a completely R&B sound that fits her voice very softly.
Amazed by the collaborations on the album, the way The Weeknd and Ty Dolla $ign fits on the song with Grande's voice is out of this world.

some okay music, but all or most of ariana’s music sounds the same. her songs are very generic for her style and essentially have the same foundations: a slow, rhythmic beginning with a bass or trap beat added soon after a vocal introduction which is typically a run. she sings and typically has a verse of rap, and uses a flashy high / whistle note to help bring the song to an end. hersome okay music, but all or most of ariana’s music sounds the same. her songs are very generic for her style and essentially have the same foundations: a slow, rhythmic beginning with a bass or trap beat added soon after a vocal introduction which is typically a run. she sings and typically has a verse of rap, and uses a flashy high / whistle note to help bring the song to an end. her songs also usually talk about some sort of romantic or sexual love, whether the love be bittersweet or wonderful.

i’ve never been a big fan of ariana’s music, but i firmly believe she should start adding new sounds or concepts to her music rather than continuing with the same things every album.

Positions brought nothing new to the table. It has the same old vibes of her previous works - sexy, sex, boss bit*h , bad bit*h - becomes too familiar now, mostly shallow lyrics and overall lack substance. I was very much expecting her to try something new. But it has some good beats and pov is the best song and a good closure.

I enjoyed the intimate, sensual theme running through all the tracks and I think Ariana did a great job thematically linking everything. Features were largely unmemorable, Doja Cat's in particular was disappointing because Motive had a lot of potential for a stand-out guest verse. Ari has definitely progressed, lyrically, judging from tracks like pov. I don’t see much Billboard Hot 100 potential yet but I guess that’ll change. The lead single/title track grows on you a lot, it’s very catchy. Overall, it felt like a very complete, coherent project. So bland, repetitive and boring. I’ve been a fan of her past albums, but this I absolutely do not enjoy. On top of the generic production, the lyricism is atrocious (Can we stay up all night, f*ck me till the daylight) ?!!??? Just overall it’s incredibly weak. Very disappointed.

Para mim, cada vocal, cada batida e cada melodia do álbum conversam muito entre si, e não é nada genérico. Uma obra de arte!

Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

Grande laid bare may well be seen as a stopgap in her canon, using taboo to checkmate her past trauma, but it does pull off the rare feat of at least sounding effortless.

With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
