    Álbum cheio de autenticidade, Ariana não surpreende ninguém ao mostrar impecaveis sonoridades. Quem é fã notou alguns elementos de sweetener e Yours Truly. Porém faltou o pop da Grande de Thank U, next. É ao mesmo tempo uma obra com suas características e uma de nova expressão para carreira da cantora.

    as much as i enjoyed songs like 34 + 35, west side, obvious, pov, etc.. i feel as if the album lacks a good hook for most of the songs, causing it to feel a bit mediocre. overall, still a good album, not her best but still doesn’t deserve the high criticism.

    Positions is definitely an album of the year material. It goes from soft, to sexy, romantic, upbeat, dramatic songs and ends with an inspiring ballad, without losing its coherence.

    I can confidently say that listening to this album, was a positively rousing experience. The masterful use of violins managing to string together a cacophony of varying sounds.     Lyrically, the album is extremely clever, with the double enteandres managing    I can confidently say that listening to this album, was a positively rousing experience. The masterful use of violins managing to string together a cacophony of varying sounds. Let's just say it was beautiful. From the cheeky intro 'shut up' to the powerful ballad of pov, ending it off. This album was beautiful.

    Lyrically, the album is extremely clever, with the double enteandres managing to uplift both the more risqué songs along with the deeper tracks as well. The honesty and vulnerability displayed in this album does a great job of generating relatibility. From the endearing lyrics of pov,, to the brutally hones ones of 'shut up', you can't help but love the honesty of it all.

    Musically, Ariana and her producers managed to do something absolutely masterful. The ever present violins grounding each sing and string together the variety of sounds used. The actual songs themselves are nothing to scoff at either. From the scintillating sound of 'just like magic' to the hauntingly beautiful sounds of "safety net": everything is great. Speaking of......

    The features on this album did a phenomenal job. Doja's verse on 'motive' added new flavour to the song. Ty Dolla seemed to perfectly read exactly what 'safety net' needed, and managed to compliment Ariana's voice almost as well as the Weeknd. Which brings me to the final feature track. "Off the table is what many a musician would consider a masterpiece. The simple arrangement only aids this song, where the vocals are the driving factor. The lyrical back and forth created is both genius and melancholic in meaning. The lyrics are then amplified by a awe inspiring vocal showcase from Ari. The Weeknd tone manages to create a beautiful chemistry and harmony with Ariana (as well as making it seem he didn't get out sung, which he kinda did    … Expand

    obably none of us were expectin this kind of style, cause she's more of a pop-ish singer, but this caught my 5 senses. the vocals are amazing and im pretty sure we havent seen ariana like this in a looong time. probably if you are gradin this from a pop-ish pov is not the best thing ariana has made, but as a R&B album this is beautiful.

    Before listening to the album I was expecting a pop album, but the musics are much more R&B than anything. It was a very good surprise, the album lost points because all the musics are almost the same, they have the same pace, the same rhythm, the same vibe, and this factor was a bit disappointing. It is a good album, not the best, but a good one

Mais um álbum "grower", atualmente não compreendido, mas futuramente amado por todos, aconteceu com o "Sweetener", e com outras artistas, como a Beyoncé com o "4", e a Rihanna com o "Anti"... a recepção crítica foi morna, mas hoje em dia são aclamados pelas mesmas que reclamaram! Temos uma ótima faixa título, que cresce a cada ouvida, e as músicas com participações são impecáveis. Apenas na primeira faixa "shut up", há uma dificuldade de absorver, mas no geral o álbum é incrível!!

There was a mood she was going for that was heavily inspired by SZA, H.E.R., Ravyn Lenae and Rihanna, but the excessiveness of her vocals and harmonies on every song really hides the mood and makes each song sound the same. If she made a ‘Positions EP’ with a less is more approach, less songs, less vocals, more time for instrumental, itThere’s just no artistic evolution with this project. There was a mood she was going for that was heavily inspired by SZA, H.E.R., Ravyn Lenae and Rihanna, but the excessiveness of her vocals and harmonies on every song really hides the mood and makes each song sound the same. If she made a ‘Positions EP’ with a less is more approach, less songs, less vocals, more time for instrumental, it might actually be interesting. She could’ve kept the strong songs like ‘my hair’ for her next full album, having more time with it and figuring out what her creative direction is going to be.     Some of the songs are good, but some are just meh...
    As a whole, I was disappointed in this album, because I've gotten used to getting better quality from Ariana.
    Also- she brought something new to the table in TUN and Sweetener, but not here.

    Ariana reinvents herself with each new album, positions bring an incredible sonority of a classic r & b is soft with touching melodies. Some audiences already used to the perfect pop may not understand the concept right away, but I'm sure they will feel the impeccable queen butera.

Unlike “Thank U, Next”, she seems genuinely happy and I love that. In my opinion, “pov” and “my hair” are standout tracks but “obvious” and “west side” have really grown on me. I hope she releases more music like this, because I can really get used to this side of Ariana. All in all, I would say this is her best or second best album, I still can’t decide.… Expand

    RnB masterpiece. good songwriting and outstanding vocals. my hair has ariana grande's most impressive vocals ever and pov her most sensitive side. cohesive lyrically and sonically

    I LOVE THID ALBUM SM... I think It's my fave álbum of her cuz it has the perfect R&B vibes that i ever wanted to listen by her... Pov, My hair, Off the table are my faves now

    Not bad, not great, just... in the middle. I put a 7 thanks to Ariana's amazing vocals & harmonies and because of some songs that I enjoyed so far like Off The Table (really beautiful), My Hair (my god her whistle notes in this song!), Pov (really beautiful song too), Positions (love it) and Safety Net (great collab). Other songs like Motive, Just Like Magic, Nasty, Love Language, ObviousNot bad, not great, just... in the middle. I put a 7 thanks to Ariana's amazing vocals & harmonies and because of some songs that I enjoyed so far like Off The Table (really beautiful), My Hair (my god her whistle notes in this song!), Pov (really beautiful song too), Positions (love it) and Safety Net (great collab). Other songs like Motive, Just Like Magic, Nasty, Love Language, Obvious & 34+35 could grow on me later. However I'm indifferent to Shut Up (flat..), West Side & Six thirty.

    oh brother, this was bad.....i have liked ariana’s music in the past so i was pretty excited for this to come out, but honestly, the only songs i like are nasty and obvious. the songwriting is incomplete. there are no standouts. literally none of this is new territory for ariana—it’s supposed to be r&b, but it’s an insult to r&b. she didn’t push herself on this album and it shows.

    Boring album. It feels like she doesn't take much time on making this album. I know she make an album every year, but quality is important than quantity. Her old albums are thousand times better than this.

    the worst ariana album. It sounds way too much repetitive and nothing new. The trap beat in each track was too much used and lack of originality and quality. The lyrics are not impressive, it's just okay. Also the chorus of each song was just repeating the title of the song and that 'it.
    Favorites: pov, off the table, positions and sefety net

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
