Pinkus Abortion Technician is another solid album from Melvins, but is nowhere near their best. It’s not strange enough to be labelled a curio, it’s not massively experimental and there are very few surprises even with the two-prong bass deployment.

It might not be the Melvins at their most essential, but their status as rock's quirkiest heroes remains irrefutable. [Apr 2018, p.55]

It's not terrible, but Melvins have released too many albums, and have had too many high points in their storied career, for Pinkus Abortion Technician to rise above the level of interesting curiosity.

I'd have to say that this album is one damn exciting example of the stamina that Melvins has been able to have over the past three decades.I'd have to say that this album is one damn exciting example of the stamina that Melvins has been able to have over the past three decades. This album is weird, and what more can you ask for from the kings of sludgy, half-metal, half-punk. This is not their best work, but that is not to say it still isn't damn good. Full Review »
