I see, hear and feel Lana del Rey in this album. This is definitely her best, most political and most confident album to date. This album (specially "The Greatest" and its last part) brings you to a destroyed and chaotic world where everybody is blond and gone and where everything is on fire. Sounds too realistic, doesn't it? Lana del Rey has been able to put her ideas and her feelings into a single album in an angelic, melancholic and beautiful way without losing her essence. I've never cried this much with an album and I appreciate it. Thank you, Lana. Keep being you. Expand

This album is a wonderful ride through the purest form of music: the melody and just Lana's voice, without any additional things. Her lyrics are like fresh water, and her voice combines all perfectly. One of the best albums I've ever listen to.

I cannot stop listening to this masterpiece. If she doesn’t finally get her long over due Grammy, I will boycott them & never show my support again. It deserves album of the year but we all know it probably won’t get that nomination.... all I can hope for because I have it, is a few nominations & at least one win. By now after 5 albums, I will take whatever I can get for her... and aI cannot stop listening to this masterpiece.

Lana del Rey keeps growing and heading to be “the greatest”. Her voice, her moods, her storytelling’s are by far some of the best around. NFR is one of the best of the year, if not the best!

This album really revolutionized the very sound of Lana Del Rey. From Born to Die to now, she has good so much as an artist. this album is a truly masterpiece. we have already listened to lana’s previews albums & we had the knowledge of how talented she is. but in norman **** rockwell, we could see how mature she is, her lyrics are so well done, her voice sounds like angles from heaven & give us ten different perspectives of the same song.

Since Ultraviolence, I knew Lana was capable of creating a modern classic, she would just have to work to it slowly and learn through patience and experience. And here it is three albums later, NFR! Pitchfork called her one of the greatest songwriters of our time. A lot of people have given that backlash, mistaking that comment as "she's the greatest living songwriter." It's a remarkably sharp pop record that retains her fascination with pop-culture iconography and the rosey simplicity of a post-war America where classic rock and blue jeans ruled and takes them to much deeper places. ... Think of it as an hour-long car ride peeling down the highway with classic rock blaring out of the radio and no real destination in mind other than where your impulsive nature might take you.

A thematically rich record, heavy on mood and elegantly written in a way that positions Del Rey between Eve Babitz and Carole King. There are beguiling and evolving melodies underneath the spare piano and acoustic arrangements. [Nov 2019, p.24]
