An album packed with heart and creativity, still committed and connected to their roots, here, they continue to prove their stake as pioneers of hardcore’s evolution, and it’s truly thrilling to witness.

The album constantly reaches out to the pop world: exploring how hardcore might form the basis for something technicolour, playful and accessible. That attitude towards the genre, as capable of mass appeal and ripe for experimentation, is what powers this excellent album.

Turnstile are ahead of the curve once again and showing what’s possible when you follow your own path.

Turnstile remain the ambassadors we need, and their latest album is proof of their lasting legacy.

Bookended by the rousing title track and radiant "Magic Man," it's a success from start to finish, offering a deft blend of surprise and satisfaction.

It’s a record of growth, progression, and innovation, borrowing influence from multiple musical spheres while losing none of its edge.

It’s the soundtrack of a summer; the music playing during first intimacies and turning 18. Anyone that isn’t old and cynical can embrace this sentiment, and maybe find a piece of themselves in this.

While not flawless, this collection of songs is indeed an ethereal alternative experience chock full of diversity, energy and fizz.

Where Glow On thrived on its contrasting textures and tempos, Never Enough weaves them together into charged conversations.

‘NEVER ENOUGH’ covers a massive expanse whilst also maintaining the core of Turnstile we fell in love with on ‘Pressure To Succeed’. And succeed they have.

If NEVER ENOUGH proves one thing, it's that Turnstile has a bright blue horizon ahead of them. The sky is the limit now.

There’s so much else happening, a profusion of ideas so deftly handled that it never feels sprawling or indulgent.

This is the group’s first album without founding member Brady Ebert, and the riffs feel less inspired across the board. There are glorious moments throughout, though.

Turnstile experiment more freely than ever on Never Enough.

They’re grounded in hardcore, but this is an album that extends their palette beyond it, reimagining the possibilities of the scene that bred them while retrofitting their sound to suit increasingly larger venues.

A haunting collection that’s worth repeat visits.

While they add a few new tricks to their arsenal, whether adding an extra layer of polish to their tried-and-true hardcore (SUNSHOWER, SOLE) or a touch of bright, jangly new wave (I CARE, SEEIN' STARS), their crossover attempts feel frustratingly half-hearted for a band that genuinely subscribes to the healing power of music.

Glow On was a calculated evolution of 2018’s Time & Space, a level-up that hit a sweet spot between pop polish and punk punch. Never Enough follows that same impulse, and when it works, the band sounds huge, confident, and creatively restless. But too often its big swings don’t always land a clean hit.

Never Enough's tepid reheats demand some form of urgent rethink.
