With a running time of barely half-an-hour, it seems likely to remain a minor footnote to Drozd and Coyne's already extensive back catalogue. [Sep 2014, p.106]

Musik, Die Schwer Zu Twerk's 30 minutes stand on their own despite nods to Flaming Lips' darker side and Linear Downfall's fascination with early King Crimson. [Sep 2014, p.91]

At times it feels like pastiche, at others like an impromptu late night jam session: legendary to those who witness it, mind blowing to those who take part, but slightly less fun to listen to sober.

A faithful if condensed cover of Yes' "Heart Of The Sunrise," sweetly sung by Drozd, concludes what is essentially a likeable frivolity, and a stop gap before their next Flaming masterwork. [Sep 2014, p.73]

Though Electric Würms may not be breaking boundaries any time soon, they’re doing this on their watch and no one else’s.

Electric Würms as a whole: cool and weird with some great moments, but little structure or direction.

Despite it purposely avoiding any links via nomenclature, Electric Würms echoes Flaming Lips. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is purely subjective, but here’s hoping that Drozd will get to maintain the helm on future projects.

Without any true sonic signifiers to really separate this record from Drozd and Coyne’s primary outfit, it simply feels like another of the Flaming Lips’ disposable ideas that are fun for a few weeks.

Ultimately, Musik, Die Schwer Zu Twerk is satisfied with halfheartedly rehashing a handful of psych and prog rock signifiers with little renewed enthusiasm or inventiveness.

On Muzik Die Schwer Zu Twerk, they're underdeveloped, and the result isn't nearly electric enough and just too perplexing.
