The features are very good, most notably juice wrld and don Toliver, but the album is still really long for no apparent reason. His last record, Kamikaze, spent most of the time insulting 'mumble' rappers and those who were vocal on how bad Revival was. Claiming they all had similar flow and bad lyrics. Yet this record has some lyrics worse than that on songs like Gucci Gang. Distasteful remarks about the tragedy and murder of innocents by extremists at an Ariana Grande Concert, downright corny and cringe like 'I'm a candle, I'll go out if you blow on me'. It isn't anything special and leaves plenty of room to grow. at this point, Eminem is a different person to the one he was 6 - 20 years ago and should be treated like a relatively new artist. this album feels like a sophomore record from a newish rapper. Nothing special, but not terrible either. Expand

Eminem got murdered on his own track by who????? Young ma my ass. All eminem does on this album is murder. He murders every beat. Every lyric and murders anyone who's featured on the track with him. Slim shady in the buildin

One would assume that after all those years critics and some people would know Eminem. Yet they get offended by few edge lines. It`s just his rhyming and wordplay, do they really think he is okay with what happened in Manchester? He matured after sobering up. And as for the critics. They had it coming. They had it coming. They criticize everything he does these days. M2BMB is one of his most consistent albums. I for one love Encore, it has gems but inconsistency is the problem there. This is pure quality. He is not going to do another SSLP or MMLP accept it. This is strong. Good beats, hooks and featurings. In Darkness there is a great use of a sample and it might be one of his finest tunes ever. He`s not fastrapping on every track like in recent years. I liked Revival and Kamikaze at first but the replay value wasn`t high. I like this album more with every listen and rate it really high. 16 of 17 songs I don`t skip. He did great! Expand

This is one of the best releases in a few years and it had to be Eminem the one who's put it out. One of eminem's best work overall, amazing beats, great content, incredible hooks, the flow, cadence, voice on this project is off the chain. Don't get me started on the double entendre, metaphors, similes, rhyme schemes. Geez

This proves once again that conceptual music is what a great artist can come up with, but then again Eminem did this all of his career, so it's not a surprise that he murdered the competition with this sneaky release of intelligent lyrics and good production.

Amazing album. I have been listening to it in a loop since it dropped. There is a lot of depth to explore and the track order enhances the experience.

Why is Unaccommodating down as a top track on the album page??? It isn't. This album is decent. It's being hated on by many elsewhere who wouldn't know good spittin' if it crawled out of them because no one does it anymore.

I'm a fan of his speed and storytelling. The shocking bars aren't really a problem, to me. The content was there and it also had great length. This is something I can play on repeat. He also had a lot of fun with it. I'm enjoying all the ad-libs.

Eminem gave me everything I could ask for in MTBMB... clean/ Dr. Dre production, Marshall-sung hooks, experimental & trap-sounding beats, introspective & personal subject matter, Em’s signature rapping/ flows/ rhymes/ wordplay and even a Black Thought feature. Thank you Em!

THIS is hip hop. Top tier MC features and all-round great bars from all of them. Very diverse tracklist with each track having its own sound and tone. Album has great depth and, with a less angry Em on it, is great to listen to.

Eminem answers criticisms of his recent work by delivering another album that’s indistinguishable from his other recent work. This album is so sick. I've had it on repeat since it was released. A couple of songs had to grow on me (Stepdad & Leaving Heaven) but after a few listens I really like them now. I'd probably give it a 9.5 as it isn't as good as SSLP, MMLP & TES which are all 10's. Make sure you give it a listen.

While not on par with the classic trilogy or MMLP2, it's definitely felt like a breath of fresh air after Revival and Kamikaze (albums that I personally disliked). A few annoying beats and questionable verses here but a lot of highlights can be found here, like Darkness or Stepdad.

Nobody can spit so many hard bars with incredible rhythm and cadence.

Not bad but definitely not great, at least it's an improvement upon Kamikaze since that album was really bad... I don't have much to say because I'm not an expert but I didn't like some of the flows and the songs sometimes felt kinda boring...

He clearly cares about his output, but “Music To Be Murdered By” is, unfortunately, another mixed bag of tricks, propped up by lyrical acrobatics and underwhelming production.

If they look hard enough, any artist could find criticism of their work online. That’s sort of the curse of the Information Age. But not everyone overreacts quite as much as Eminem does. But if his fears grow tiring, his lyrical ability can still give you something to admire, even if the album is somewhat uneven.

It is not, strictly speaking, a good record—Eminem hasn’t made one of those in a decade—but it boasts enough technical command and generates just enough arresting ideas to hold your attention.
