I liked this album this is his best since MMLP2. He had some features that surprised me, like Young MA, Juice Wrld, and Don toliver. The beats were better than both Kamikaze and Revival. Eminem’s best album since the 00s. From front to back this is a true definition of a hip hop album. Hopefully it inspires the current generation to focus on lyrics and punchlines more.

Shady is back. Unforgiving, unapologetic, and real. 2020 will show a lack of intolerance for some, but the fact that he’s reigniting the gun-reform conversation, and it didn’t take ANOTHER mass shooting, is a victory in itself. Let alone a fire album, tracks 1-20.

Eminem is Eminem! He is a GOAT of hip hop no matter who wants to admit it or who does NOT! His wordplay is unmatched and his flows are insane. The album really gets going with the Juice WRLD featured “Godzilla”... it was this moment when Eminem delivers one of his best verses in his history. Clearly Eminem is a great rapper. Nevertheless, he's the most uninteresting person on earth at this point. This thing reeks of "been there done that" and completely fades from ones attention before the halfway point. Couple of nice spots on here but they're drowned in an overlong track list that really can't keep it up. 5/10 pretty much based on technical ability above all else.

Eminem's best project, production wise and writing wise, since Recovery. On Kamikaze he had a point to get across and sounded more angry than confident, but this time around, he is more comfortable with himself and is having more fun. Eminem is back again with more heat. The bars are on point and he delivers 100%. With some introspective and heavy tracks like Darkness and In Too Deep, as well as some classic fast, impressive verses that can be found in Godzilla, Yah Yah, and the intro (Premonition), he shows yet again why he is the greatest rapper alive.

Cause you missed the line and never caught it

An impressive comeback from the previous two albums. Any stale moments in the album are immediately forgotten with the outstanding instrumental. It seems that Eminem will always be controversial, and there are things he said that he obviously shouldn’t have said, but I believe these faults don’t matter too much when the end result is so impressive and enjoyable.

With all the noise surrounding any Eminem release, not only by fans and critics, but overly sensitive whistle blowing bloggers and social media mobsters, eager to pick apart and place judgement on an entire project based off of one lyric they deem “offensive”, it’s difficult to clear out all of the background noise and focus on reviewing the actual album as a whole, as a musical piece.
This being said, MTBMB is a fantastic return to form for Slim Shady on many levels and feels like the album he’s been trying to make for the better part of the past decade. Still crisp, and as sharp as ever, yet somehow makes his old tricks feel new again and work here. The wordplay throughout the album is simply brilliant and not rivaled by anyone else on the planet. The right mix of serious and humorous songs combined with the best production on an Eminem album in quite sometime, ditching the Rick Rubin rap rock efforts in exchange for more contemporary and dark themes which fit perfectly with the albums title and concept. This alongside a great set of guest features, makes me have to rate this as the best Eminem album since Recovery. I’m giving this a 9, with the understanding that classic albums such as The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show reserve the 10. This falls just shy of those efforts but overall, MTBMB is a work of genius.

i will never understand a "critics" review, not only are they being biased but every time the majority of the public likes something the "critics" review is so far off from the public's and this isn't just being represented in music but in movies and video games alike. How can the same reviewer give Revival a higher score than Kamikaze? This goes for a handful of other "critics", particularly a "critic" giving Revival 80 but Music To Be Murdered By a 40. This just proves how out of touch and easily offended these people are, trying to force Eminem and other artists that are not only in music to be politically correct and its making entertainment for the culture booorrring. "The album opens with a woman being murdered, referring to the album’s title and foreshadowing its theme. Who’s committing this act…? Eminem is talking to his alter ego, as he digs Slim Shady up, letting him out of his grave." -Genius annotation user: Toonamiguy
This album is filled with lines that you just run in your head over and over for so long like it just hooks you in and you'll rewind just to hear it again. That is Slim Shady for you. Best album in years stop hating and respect art. Some of the reviews I have heard have been BS. The new music out today is garbage. This has old school mixed with new school. Dark twisted no different then the shows we see on TV. Respect on this album. Love it.

There's a certain 'strength' exuded by this album. It is not an angry album. It is a well thought out, exhaustingly made album that pleases in all manner that one might call unexpected. There are a few fillers, certainly. But the good turns far outweigh the shortcomings. This is quite the album to vibe too. Shoutout to Godzilla!

Eminem makes a significant return to form on “Music To Be Murdered By”. On this LP, he delivers excellent flows alongside equally (mostly) potent lyrics + great production. Some tracks I would’ve gone without are Stepfather (the beat is quite horrendous), Farewell, Those Kinda Nights, and Marsh. Otherwise, this album is quite good.

It was a lot of fun to listen to, from the first track to the outro. The theme of the entire album was just fun and eminem had a lot of great hooks and actual songs.

When I heard Eminem released a new album, I was like finally but please don't fail me and Eminem rose to the challenge... Great story, lyrical genius, speed is uptight and awesome beat.... Seriously the album is just something out of this world that only he can make happen.. Keep it up Eminem.

His best album since Marshall Mathers LP 2. Maybe even since 2002. Good old Eminem, 15 songs from 17 on repeat. Great!

This album clearly potrays the rappers prowess over his lyrical abilities. His mindfull metaphors and clever references makes this album a proper manifestation of higher power at work.

Eminem is a genius. This album is great. As lame and cliche as I feel writing the next sentence “haters gone hate.”

Though the production choices can be distracting, the latest album from Shady hits all the right spots, technical prowess, much improved hooks, solid sequencing, and more than a few moments of creative genius. The most satisfying offering Eminem has made in years.

It's not Shady on drugs, it's not Marshall in rehab, we're in a sweet spot...
The flow is fresh, unique compared to his other albums and still manages to surprise... The creativity in the pun scheme is amazing as always...
It's basically another altered perspective of a rapper who's remained relevant and ranted for 20 years...

( first u can’t judge an Eminem album without listening to every rap album and song, if I don’t u don’t why the references and all the names of songs he dropped)Just would like to say to all the people who say Eminem is just rapping fast to impress people. One don’t listen to the album on shuffle ruins the flow and did you even listen to In too deep? Or one of those nights? He clearly cares about his output, but “Music To Be Murdered By” is, unfortunately, another mixed bag of tricks, propped up by lyrical acrobatics and underwhelming production.

If they look hard enough, any artist could find criticism of their work online. That’s sort of the curse of the Information Age. But not everyone overreacts quite as much as Eminem does. But if his fears grow tiring, his lyrical ability can still give you something to admire, even if the album is somewhat uneven.

It is not, strictly speaking, a good record—Eminem hasn’t made one of those in a decade—but it boasts enough technical command and generates just enough arresting ideas to hold your attention.
