It is the best album of all time. Deserves 100. The lyrics are perfect and emotional but still sounds happy. She is an incredible artist and I am excited for the third album to come out. Sonically perfect, lyrically perfect. ITS PERFECT! - facts are facts and the fact that melodrama is my bible, thank you my lorde and saviour

From the first line to the last, Lorde makes sure that her age leaves it’s print on her 11-track collection. Titled “Melodrama”, this album sums up what it feels like: burning through your late teens and leaping into adulthood. Titled “Melodrama”, this album sums up what it feels like: burning through your late teens and leaping into adulthood. From doing her make up in somebody else’s car, to being hung in The Louvre, and looking for perfect places, Ella takes you on a magical, mysterious experience through the wonderful twists and turns of her mind.

The opening track, “Green Light”, should only be heard while blasted on speakers, while you feel the base thumping along with your heart, to prep you for the roller-coaster coming your way. Lorde’s song writing is top-notch through the whole body of work, which is an element missing in lots of today’s most releases. It is worth mentioning the she wrote the whole album by herself, with only some help from her producer, Jack Antonoff. Some of the lyrical highlights are “Liability”, the somber ballad, written in the back of a taxi, inspired by Rihanna’s mini-track “Higher”; “So I guess I'll go home into the arms of the girl that I love. The only love I haven't screwed up. She's so hard to please but she's a forest fire. I do my best to meet her demands, play at romance, we slow dance in the living room, but all that a stranger would see, is one girl swaying alone, stroking her cheek." Lorde fools us for a second, leading us to think she’s coming out, only to reveal that she’s actually the one she sings about. Another highlight is in the up-beat, youthful track, “Homemade Dynamite”, where Lorde describes a dreadful scene so artistically and beautifully, making you forget for a second that it’s a car crash scene; “We'll end up painted on the road, red and chrome all the broken glass sparkling.” Jack Antonoff and Lorde created this album while living together, crammed in a little corner of Jack’s house, in their own mini-studio, and you can tell that, by feeling the intimacy of the tracks, and that gut-feeling you get going through “Writer In the Dark”, and energy-soar while blasting “Supercut”
The titular track, Sober II (Melodrama), is probably one of the most genius songs ever written.Starting off as a piece you’d hear in a musical, Lorde depicts the dismay of an after-party, after getting to know a room for it’s darkness and then the lights are on, but then a trap beat takes over and Lorde makes it gracefully through these untested waters, exposing today’s world for all it’s horrific terrors.
If you wanted to fit Melodrama in a category, or describe it’s sound, it has to be one of it’s own, and it’ll probably end up on top. Lorde ends her album with an open question, “what the **** are perfect places, anyway?” and perhaps she answered herself by creating Melodrama, a perfect place of sound and musical intelligence for music lovers.

I couldn't possibly forget to review this masterpiece. This album is so well done and cohesive. Every single song is good and you don't want to skip any of them. Greatly written and produced and deserved the AOTY Grammy. Can't wait for her new album because I know she will deliver a another masterpiece, like she always does.

Álbum coeso, inteligente, articulado e bem produzido. It takes several listens to understand how good Melodrama is. All of its sounds and colors are just a reflection of how much it was put into making this album.

The great imagery allows the audience to truly visualize her breakup and how she intend the album to be portrayed. There are no gimmicks. There’s nothing screaming for acceptance. Melodrama is a raw, real album under its sparkly clean production. One written for the masses but able to resonate with each individual listener.

Still only 20 years old, Lorde could have been forgiven for floundering under the weight of expectation. Instead she’s reasserted her status as today’s ultimate alt-pop artist with a record that balances the contemporary with the classic in typically immaculate style.
