More intravenously emotional as Pure Heroine is. This time 70's pop rock influences mixed with contemporary-well-worked-out-pop results in a masterpiece.

Never been a fan of the genre Lorde associates with, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. It is filled with somewhat generic pop-tripes, yet it adds something new in its sensuality and, well, its melodrama.

Anjing woy bagus banget dah nih album. The songs are very rich melodically and the instrumentals are breath-taking. Definitely what we were all waiting for in Pop Music. I love Lorde. But I consider Louvre hideous, that's why I gave a 10. But all the others are heavenly, Sober II, Sober, Homemade Dynamite, Writer in The Dark. Love them all!

Lorde has made her best album yet. This is full with feelings and truth in the lyrics and the music. Melodrama is telling us something sad but at the same time beautiful. My only issue with Melodrama is that two songs have like 30 seconds more that they should but the album is highly recommended.

This is a very well cohesive piece of art. I guess she is going to make her name nowadays and she is amazing. This album is everything. Well done, Lorde. Keep blessing us with **** good music.

The album really follow the drama way, good job. It's sad and catchy, but somehow do not feel original for me, the lyrics are deep but too much pop. Good piano arranges.

    Highlights: Sober, Liability.

Veredict: too overrated, good, catchy, but not a masterpiece in any way.

A solid piece of work that features Lorde at her best self - melodramatic and raw. Greenlight and Writer in the Dark are my personal favorites, with Liabilities and Loveless trailing behind. She deserves all the acclaim she's getting, however, because although I didn't connect to the album as much as I had wanted, it's clear that she put out quality work that pleased both her fans and the casual listeners alike. I'm not into Lorde's in-your-face, throaty, borderline out-of-tune talk-singing that she trots out a lot on this album. I prefer her softer, more vocal tasteful approach on tracks like "Supercut" and "Perfect Places". I'd say I prefer her upper register, but she's done her lower register so well in the past, on tracks like "Royals."
On the other hand, she's clearly a talented lyricist,

Everybody is talking about this because the world knows it worth.
Melodrama is without a doubt the best album released on this year, Its is melancholic and so strong at the same time, something really hard to create, but so enjoyable and unforgettable.
Top tracks are all of the songs, so give it one, two, a thousand chances.

Her strengths in creating spacious, slow atmospheres mostly outweighed her weaknesses within a more contemporary pop sound, but while showing personality the overall interest level was not where it should have been given Lorde's popularity. My Score: 129/180 (Good) = 7.2/10

Melodrama delivers some interesting changes in Lorde's repertoire, as her songs are less about teen angst and more geared to the melodrama of relationships (see where she got the title?). I have to be honest, I really thought Lorde wouldn't come with something as good as Pure Heroine, but it turned out I was wrong. The album is incredible, the songs connect to each other perfectly. You can see clearly what she means with it. Without a doubt one of the best albums of the decade.

At first i thought that Pure Heroine, was way better because for me it was more relatable, but the construction of Melodrama it's just flawless. Supercut speaks for my mind, that song makes me feel full of something beautifully abstract.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Melodrama confirms the maturity and continuous transformation of the singer and songwriter New Zealander. A clear evolution that is revealed in every fragment of voice, beat or melancholy arrangement that sews work.
The instrumentals of the album as well as its structure were thought to involve us in a unique atmosphere of the universe to which the singer lives and with which it communicates. It is undeniable that Lord has an expressive freedom, both musically and corporately in his work and the work brings to the forefront that particularity of the singer.

Homemade Dynamite adds to the party setting where I think in concert people will go nuts other this one easily. Lastly Sober II where she expands on from Sober I and she starts singing over a trap beat. #GOLORDE But once from flow and cadence you can for sure see that Hip-Hop was played in the home a lot. So for the fellow Scorpio well done Lorde. Melodrama easily wins Pop album of the Year.

Still only 20 years old, Lorde could have been forgiven for floundering under the weight of expectation. Instead she’s reasserted her status as today’s ultimate alt-pop artist with a record that balances the contemporary with the classic in typically immaculate style.
