Just a beautiful masterpiece last Madonna's 14th album..... The way she undress her soul and political thoughs, remains me albums as "Like a Prayer" or "American Life"!
Truly gems included on it are "God Control", "I Rise" or "Crave"....

Thank you, Madonna, for continuing to work tirelessly. Madame X was not made for the charts, much less for specialized critics. Only those who will be pleased with another work by the only Queen are those who know all about her vast and great career. Yeah!

Disregarding the main single with Maluma (which I find crappy) the rest of the album is exceptional... Madonna delivers one of the most underrated albums of the year... She did show why she is the queen of reinvention... the album is a must listen

Masterpiece! Strong lyrics, incredible visuals, experimental and deliciously artistic sound. Extreme Occident, Looking for Mercy, God Control, Batuka e Killers Who Are Partying are the best tracks, but all the others also have their quality and space. The Queen of pop reinvented herself once more and entered her most experimental work to date.

"Madame X" is so much better than her latest efforts. Madonna's latest album is bizarre and interesting. Some choices may seem odd but in the end, everything feels coherent with the theme and her alter-ego's background story. The tour was amazing too and is complementary to this work of art, check it out!

Madame ❌ can best be described as @madonna herself said in an interview, “it’s definitely not background music”. I’d describe it as unlike anything she’s ever done but importantly unlike anything anyone has ever done. Who else has fused an album with three different languages organically flowing around! Who else has changed the tonality of their voice to convey their emotion (God ControlMadame ❌ can best be described as @madonna herself said in an interview, “it’s definitely not background music”. I’d describe it as unlike anything she’s ever done but importantly unlike anything anyone has ever done. Who else has fused an album with three different languages organically flowing around! Who else has changed the tonality of their voice to convey their emotion (God Control appears sung through clenched teeth)! Who else moves from dance music to ballads so effortlessly! Who else can put a positive spin to a gloomy world picture! Madame ❌ is many things but it’s singularly captivating. It definitely draws out a strong opinion and that has to be art! “It’s easy to be lazy & hard to get away from the crowd” “& either way my baby we’ll never be the same” so sang she in Intervention back on #AmericanLife, and seems to live by that belief even today. It’s no surprise that the producer to helm Madame ❌ is @mirwais.official who has collaborated for a third time on what can be only described as #Brilliant #Unique #Timeless #Ballsy #Badass #Art with great support from @jasonevigan @therealmikedean #Billboard! These songs will play beautifully in a theatre and I hope I can go see a show all the way from India! Until then I’ll soak in the insane magic of Madame ❌. My fav are #Crave #GodControl #ComeAlive #DarkBallet #IRise #IDontSearchIFind #FazGostoso #Batuka. The only downside to this masterpiece is the overuse of auto tune that I’m not much a fan of! @madonna thank you for doing what you do - inspiring with sheer passion n commitment to your craft. We’re better for it. Expand

A weird, raw, wild, viceral & overproduced album. A classic. Madonna presents Madame X as an extention of her different personas, each one reflected on each song. We can hear Madonna, the human, exposing her rarest thoughts and her weird vision of justice from her rich position.

Madonna has brought a pop that is of the past, but it fit the current pop. That's a surprising detail, she took every inch of the world and saw something amazing she got along with all the parts. The album is certainly one of her best.

"God Control" points out the loss of respect for our nation, the lack of opportunities, the fact that we need more that what we have been given in terms of reform.

"Crave" is about the addiction to love and the dangers that can happen because of it.

One of Madonna's most original, raw and inside albums. You can only love it, or hate it, it's hard to just like it. She's proven once again she's the queen of all the pop queens, completely careless about the ratings and critics, she's just out there doing her thing. I really really loved it!

Madame X is her such experimental album in a decade.
So much better than Rebel Heart!

It is not going to be her most popular or best received one, but trust me - this one is a tasteful rarity perfect for the time of unrest.

Critics are very true when they say that Madame X is her best album since Confessions! You can definitely tell she was heavily influenced with Latin culture, in which adds that extra spice to the record as a whole! From the drums in Batuka to the 90’s groovy tone in I Don’t Search I Find, this album has quite a diverse range for whatever mood you’re in. One of her best albums. She fits herself today's music. I felt like I was listening to one of the 2010's artists. But Medellin and Extreme Occident are not the songs that I can die for. Probably I will never listen to them.

the most interesting fact of this album is the big experiment which the queen of pop has made. maybe many people won’t understand the concept or the art of this work, but it’s clear that madame x sounds like an album which is going to be remembered in a near future. congratulations.

Madonna has had many hits and global best seller albums through her long career. What can be said for sure is that each one of them presented a different sound and a new reinvention of Madonna's image to accompany the concept of the album. It is also true that most of her albums were relying on a big leading single that would turn heads and set the overall feel of the album. It is also true that most of her albums were relying on a big leading single that would turn heads and set the overall feel of the album. Confessions on a dance floor was a best seller because of Hung up and Hard Candy was a hit because of 4 Minutes. In Madame X each song has each own identity and to fully appreciate the album you will need to listen from start to finish. If I had to describe the album in a single sentence I would say it is American Life with ethnic sounds. It resembles American Life because of Mirwais productions and the political messages of the lyrics (God Control, Batuka, Dark Ballet, Future). However in Madame X Madonna offers more uplifting global sounds (Medellin, Faz Gostoz, **** I'm Loca) that make the album richer and less sterilised than American Life. The ballads included are excellent and complement the album perfectly (Killers who are partying, Looking for Mercy, Extreme Occident). The album will definetlety divide the fans because it is so different to her previous releases however it never crosses the boundaries of a pop album. Madame X is a far cry from the uninspiring Rebel Heart and the cheesy MDNA. It is also light years away from the outdated sound of Hard Candy. Fans should definitely give it a chance. Moving away from USA made a marked turn to Madonna's sound and Madame X shows how she can still reinvent her sound again and again and again. Expand

#MadameX  no es Ray Of Light pero esta lejos de ser el peor, es lo más atrevido desde American Life y eso, en estos días, donde se hacen pop fácil, me parece fantástico. Una Madonna que a sus 60 años se quiere seguir reinventando.

She screwed up several times during past decade but now... she speaks her mind at least. Never the same. Original and brave album as close to art as Like a Prayer.

For any reasons Madonna is the queen of the Pop Music. Madame X is a very weird album, it's good but someone took bad desicions with the singles and music videos. Madonna show us how can be the perfect storm even when there are some much Pop Stars who take the cover of the digital media. Is not my favorite album but it's Okay.

"Medellin" is an okay track, with really odd, but quite cool production choices. Chorus could've been longer, because it feels a little bit short. "Dark Ballet" starts really epic, with powerful statements matched by right production. Chorus could've been longer, because it feels a little bit short. "Dark Ballet" starts really epic, with powerful statements matched by right production. But the second half of the song presents Tchaikovsky's piano ballad with Madonna's distorted vocals - you can get used to it after some time, but it would be really nice to hear the song with that experimental part. Another track is even more experimental with many sections. "God Control" starts with Madonna mummbling, and it continues with church choir transforming into hi-NRG dance track. Maybe with too much auto-tune, but you can really groove to this! And Madonna's delivery is really cool and fitting. "Future" didn't clicked to me at the begining, but now it's one of the album tracks I enjoy the most. Production here is really great.
"Batuka" didn't click with me for the first listen too, but I started grooving to it with time. However I can say that this song is very flawed, not only it feels inconsistent, but Madonna's vocals are so so bad here. She really should stop using/reduce usage of auto-tune. "Killers Who Are Partying" is a fine composition, usage of Portugese is really nice.
"Crave" got me immedietly. A trap-pop ballad with really cool vocals slayed by both Madonna and Swae Lee. The lyrics are lovely too. "Crazy" and "Come Alive" are a little bit slower compared to the rest of the album, but faster than "Crave". However both of them contain the kick, and they're nice to listen to. "Crazy" has some Spanish lyrics which always fit Madonna, while "Come Alive" ends nicely with a choir. "Extreme Occident" is really fascinating track which is kinda splitted into two parts. I love how the bridge kicks in!
Another track that I didn't vibe to at first listen - "Faz Gostoso" - is a nice dance song. However it has one major flaw - Madonna sounds here so ugly...and that kinda festival-y bridge doesn't connect with the rest of the song much and it's kinda out-of-place -- I'm glad it's that short. **** I'm Loca" it's a passable effort. It'd be cool if it's spoken outro didn't exist, it's kinda embarassing. "I Don't Search I Find" is the closest thing on this album to be called an "album filler" with it's disposable nature. However this disco tune is really nice to vibe too. "Looking for Mercy" is really nice retrospective track with lush production. Album closer, "I Rise", is an anthem, production and vocals are here on point, with explosive outro, that's what we need!
It's really nice offering. Madonna simply serves a role of this kind of experimental artist that doesn't need to have a hits right now, even though "Crave" or "I Rise" could've been easily big with proper promotion and hype. They are also my most favorite tracks of the album, with "Future" and "Extreme Occident". Definitely this record is not for everyone, due to it's artsy, experimental nature - but if you're into that stuff you might really enjoy it.

The pace plods on some mid-tempo tracks, but overall this is a personal, politically-charged mix of dark thoughts and good vibes. [Aug 2019, p.88]

Overall, Madonna’s fourteenth album Madame X feels as if Mirwais had mostly completed a decent run-of-the-mill modern pop record, albeit with a cool hotch-potch global feel; hip nods in place to fado, dub and other micro-genres dunked amongst the trap and retro disco. But then just before sign-off, Herself went through the top-lines with a sharpie. ... None of these carefully curated flourishes feel as if they truly live inside the ‘whole’ of this music. Instead it all feels plonked on top of a template.

Madonna has created this music for an audience of one: Herself. Often it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
