This album is full of great lyrics, masterfully produced songs, and manages to be deliver a diverse range of sounds while remaining sonically cohesive. This is easily Taylors best album to date.

one of best albums I've ever heard, Taylor has never made these kind of sounds, sometimes reminds me of the 90s, such a great job by Taylor Swift

This album exceeded all my expectations. At first I was nervous that I wouldn't enjoy it due to the single ME! but I was proved wrong after my first listen.

Her best one yet, she is simply a genius with showing the world a glimpse into her world with her clever lyrics. One for the records and ages it is unmatched. She is making history every time she puts pen to paper. Continuous growth, evolving with these modern confusing times we call music. Timeless and beautiful.

Really love the album, sounds differently from her past albums but has slight hints from them. Diverse but not messy.

A falta de explosões é compensada com a forma perfeita com que a voz da Taylor é trabalhada, então não posso reclamar. O Lover está perfeito, só isso. Expand

That's her 7th album and she's still able to come with something new, something fresh and the most important- something that we all can relate to. Everybody feels love. You can love your pet, you can love your parents, you can love your bf/gf. This album definitely shows other sides of love, the joyful one, the painful one, the hopeless one, the slowly fading one.

There are literally no words to describe this masterpiece of an album by the one and only, record-breaking, superstar, Taylor Swift. This album is consisted of fun cheerful bops, sad tearjerkers and they all have one astounding thing in common, they are all beautifully structured and are written with such lyrics that all have a meaning behind them and a backstory. Beautiful, soulful and complex this album touches many styles and emotions as it takes you through. It's reminiscent of Taylor's previous albums but takes them to a whole new place with new sounds mixing in. The lyrics leave you reeling at times and they stick around with you long after you stop listening. I can't stop replaying this album.

this album is what the pop music today needs. It has the right amount of catchy beats, friendly choruses, but also has some stripped down, bare moments. I truly am amazed by this body of work. Remarkable!

Lover is a whirlwind of love, romance, infatuation, friendship, empowerment and letting go of past grievances. From the opening track I Forgot That You Existed's groovy production and shedding of reputation's moody vibe to the closing track of Daylight, Lover is a pure delight. There's a song for everyone. Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince's subtly political edge, Cruel Summer's double bridge, and False God's experimental saxophone instrumentals are all personal highlights. However, Lover is not without it's heartbreaking and low moments, whether it's the singular breakup song of the album, Death By a Thousand Cuts, Afterglow's anxiety over missteps in a relationship, or Soon You'll Get Better's heart wrenching story of her mother's cancer; Swift shows us that love doesn't come without hard times. I'm not surprised, but I am impressed. Swift has managed to do it again - craft a journey with her words and create the melody to the next year of my life. It may only be August, but I can confidently say that this is album of the year. Expand

Taylor Swift outdid herself with this album. At first, the beginning two singles releases were bubblegum, PG songs that left me weary about the rest of the album. Then she came out with “The Archer” one of the most gripping songs. Taylor Swift again exceeded expectations with Lover, which is her best album both lyrically and production-wise. It is obvious her outlook on life has evolved, and that she is in this career and relationship for the long run.

Taylor Swift is back with her seventh album, "Lover", and in a lot of ways, it's so unrestrained and unfiltered that it feels like her most authentic work to date.

Taylor Swift is back with her seventh album, "Lover", and in a lot of ways, it's so unrestrained and unfiltered that it feels like her most authentic work to date.
The album runs at 18 tracks (the most track on any Swift album) and merges different styles and vibes, but still somehow feels very cohesive. She ditched the dark "night-time" character she was channeling with "reputation", stepped into the light and started celebrating her days, her friends, and well.. her lover. It is the first Taylor Swift album since 2012 that doesn't have Max Martin and Shellback on production duties, with Ms Swift opting for lighter and more organic productions (that still hit so hard) from the likes of long-term collaborator Jack Antonoff, and new collaborators such as Joel Little, Frank Dukes, and Sounwave. The lyricism feels so smart and effortless, as if Swift was putting into words everything she was thinking of, with storytelling, metaphors, and imagery merging into beautiful, catchy hooks.

The record kicks off with the excellent 'I Forgot That You Existed' with cheeky lyrics such as 'In my feelings more than Drake' and references such as 'You got out some pop corn soon as my rep started going down, down down', but also with a life lesson we should all apply in our daily lives: 'it isn't love, it isn't hate, it's just indifference'. "Lover" then moves to excellent tracks such as the St. Vincent co-written 'Cruel Summer' which sounds like an instant hit with a super catchy chorus and some great singing on the verses, and 'I Think He Knows' which has a 80's retro-vibe and sounds like it could fit perfectly on a Carly Rae Jepsen album. The title track, which is the center of the record, is a sweet, tender love letter, an ode to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who is the subject of several other excellent tracks such as 'London Boy' and 'Cornelia Street'.

The diversity goes on to show us Taylor going back to her country roots on 'Soon You'll Get Better', a tear-jerking track about her mom's battle with cancer, going jazzy on 'False God', detailing romantic love and sex, and going electropop on the experimental feminist-anthem 'The Man'. The two main highlights on the album though, are 'Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince' which has classic Taylor Swift storytelling that could have a double entander, and 'Afterglow' is a gorgeous piece of art a song, having a chorus that goes for miles unforgotten.

The only song I'd go far to label as a "filler" comes towards the end: 'It's Nice to Have a Friend'. It is a cute little song, almost sounding like an interlude, however an interlude that makes no sense and has no place in the context of the album.

"Lover" is a celebration of love in all its forms, and it's the first album Taylor Swift has owned, and indeed it sounds like it's all hers, at her freest.

Ultimately, Lover is overstuffed and meandering, but serves as a positive reprieve from her past struggles in the public eye, and represents an artist at the peak of her creativity, power, and—one hopes—continued romantic bliss.

Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
