Lover is a masterpiece! There is not a single bad song on this entire 18-track album. Taylor continues to raise the bar higher for artists in this generation. I've loved seeing Taylor Swift write and sing about trying to find love and dreaming about her fairytale romance and now in Lover finally finding that true love. It's amazing to see her come so far and be so incredibly happy. ThisLover is a masterpiece! There is not a single bad song on this entire 18-track album. This is no doubt Taylor Swift's best album. It is ventures to all parts of love, the good, the bad, the happy, and the sad. When she said the album was a love letter to love itself, you could clearly hear that throughout the album. Taylor is one of the rare artists of our generation that constantly and consistently delivers quality with every project. And what is even more rare, while she is always unapologetically and intrinsically the Taylor we know, her artistic growth is almost unmatched among her peers. With this album she once again goes through rebirth or as she herself said once, "I follow every zig with aTaylor is one of the rare artists of our generation that constantly and consistently delivers quality with every project. And what is even more rare, while she is always unapologetically and intrinsically the Taylor we know, her artistic growth is almost unmatched among her peers. With this album she once again goes through rebirth or as she herself said once, "I follow every zig with a zag. I don’t try to necessarily outdo myself, I just try to do something slightly different."

As a long-time Swift fan I can say that this album, probably more than any other before, displays her maturing process brilliantly and that can be seen in her lyrics, sounds, as well as the themes she covers throughout this album. Never has she been so introspective, aware and open about her flaws and how they have affected her life and relationships. Some songs cut so deep that they make the listener feel almost called out, because let's face it, who can't relate to screw-ups and all the ways they've affected our lives? Even two lead singles that have gotten mixed reviews, and it should be noted that Swift has developed a habit of releasing polarizing singles - at this point it seems like she enjoys deceiving public with her first releases, sound so much better and purposeful in the context of the album as a body of work.

There's so much more that can be said for this album, after all - it is 18 songs long and there is a lot to unpack. So make some time and give this album a proper listen. Or two. Or five. Because this album is well worth spending time on.

Lover is a reminder to always love first, and to not care who is watching. Lover is the album of the year, possibly of the decade.

The queen has done it again. This may just be her best album. It’s so sonically and lyrically complex and it seems like every time that I listen to it, I pick up on things I previously missed that make me love the album even more. Such a beautiful, emotional, and fun ride of an album. No one does it like the queen.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ll just say it. I really dislike the new Taylor swift album lover. My mom taught me to not use the word hate... First off the album is too long. The entire first half sounds the same with no pace change until we get to soon you’ll get better. The opening song I forgot that you existed is a recycled version of this is why we can’t have nice things. With undertones of every other song on reputation. The next half of the album is getaway car with worse lyrics/bridges/choruses. The beautiful song she wrote for her mother is arranged in the exact same way Ronan was. The man lyrics are awful. All of the lyrics pretty much are. I would rate this album 0/10 and will probably never listen to it again. There is no growth here. There are hints of moments. The archer explores themes of a relationship but some of the lyrics in that song pretty much ruin it. “Cut off my nose just to spite my face” anyways I’ve seen virtually no criticisms of this album so here’s my take. This album is absolutely groundbreaking, the lyricism and production is incredible. Every song tells a personal story and each are very different in their own way. I absolutely love what Taylor stands for. She has grown so much as an artist and I am so incredibly proud of her. She is absolutely killing the game and saving pop music.

A true masterclass in songwriting and production, not unexpected from the greatest songwriter of this generation and possibly all time or the powerhouse duo that is Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff. Only one artist can move so many pure albums and have a role in every part of the album creation. Taylor Swift.

Ultimately, Lover is overstuffed and meandering, but serves as a positive reprieve from her past struggles in the public eye, and represents an artist at the peak of her creativity, power, and—one hopes—continued romantic bliss.

Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
