Though Lana Del Rey, my personal favorite, is getting many backlash from fellow Taylor Swift fans, I am here not to hate on Taylor Swift, but to applaud her newest album, Lover. the unique production and sound of Taylor Swift is what sets this album apart. very 1989-esque, it is filled with beautifully choreographed tunes which will dance through your head all day, and meaningful lyrics that will strive to feel things you have never felt before. A truly incredible piece of art which will go down as one of her best albums to date.

It was a mistake listening to this album right after hearing NFR. The drop in quality was too much to handle.

Very bad. Same music. Same tune. Copycat from Katy and Hot Chella Rae. She deserves nothing. Buying her way into award shows. Useless girl

Maybe this album didn’t really deserve a 0 but... this album was a gunshot to the record that was reputation and instead of continuing that growth it was a poor attempt to make pop music. Forgot you existed? Carly Rae Jepsen copycat track. Cruel summer basically snapped a whole track from a KPOP song. Lover? Garage band production and Pinterest lyrics. The Archer? A reject Lorde track with absolutely no climax. I Think He Knows? Definition of a filler track. Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince? Hey @Lana Del Rey, Taylor covered an unreleased Born To Die track and failed miserably. Paper rings- Hilary Duff girl you BETTER she this is literally one of your songs... Cornelia Street?— don’t even know where to begin. Death by a thousand cuts- yes death to your career. London boy: maybe if your father didn’t buy out all your debut albums you would’ve actually gone to school and learned basic geography of where things are. Soon you’ll get better actually is a beautiful song with a beautiful meaning but it could’ve had more. False god I listened to three times and I honestly couldn’t tell you what it sounds like. You need to Calm down is the definition of queer baiting especially dyeing your hair the bisexual flag when you aren’t bisexual. That’s inappropriate. Afterglow is a wannabe deep track that gets it lyrics from a tumblr post by a woman named Sharon who runs a soccer moms club. And I’m really sorry ME! didn’t make the cut for the trolls movie :( It’s nice to have a friend has a literal children’s choir which is probably why it’s the best on the album. They did what you tired to do. Final track, daylight. Maybe one day when you don’t rip off smaller artists you’ll get why this is so bad. Overall a genre less album and not in the good way. A skip. A mess. Expand

Taylor Swift's new album 'Lover' as it's title suggests, is an ode to her loving relationship with her beau (Joe Alwyn). With 18 tracks, the album may seem long to most listeners but for fans it is a treat to the ears. Musically, she has abandoned the sound of Reputation (although we'd love to hear similar style again), her new venture borderlines on bubblegum pop mixed with the country-pop style of the Red era. Although the production (by Jack Antonoff) seems a tad bit inferior to the genius of Reputation, it does complement Taylor's songs wonderfully. Overall, yet another wonderful album by the greatest female pop artist of this decade. Expand

Taylor Swift in this one, simply at her best, this album is what was needed to prove that she can still write remarkable and heveanly-touched lyrics even if she doesn't have her exes to motivate to write. This simply says she can write all sorts of music whenever it comes to her. 10/10.

If the hooks don't reel you in just wait for the bridges because they will lead you to the magical land of love. This album oozes happiness and that is tapered with some bittersweet tunes that explore the fear of losing that happiness. If you enjoyed her albums Red and Speak Now, then Lover is right up your alley. It's a gentle echo of what those albums were hoping and striving for with the satisfaction of finding that true love she fantasizes about yet never truly knew until now. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be playing on repeat for a while. This album will undoubtedly go down as one of her most iconic and timeless. Expand

It’s an album that screams out for an editor, but when it hits the right notes, it demonstrates just why Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world.

Ultimately, Lover is overstuffed and meandering, but serves as a positive reprieve from her past struggles in the public eye, and represents an artist at the peak of her creativity, power, and—one hopes—continued romantic bliss.

Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
