    I thought Christina lost it after Lotus, but this new album Liberation proves me wrong. This is Christina at her best, always reinvent herself and makes real music. Best songs are Maria (with the Searching for Maria interlude) and Unless It's With You.

    Her best album this decade. The diva, Xtina is now back with 15 tracks album that fit with each emotions of a human being. The amazing ballad such as Deserve and Unless It's With You, and mid tempo gems like Pipe, Accelerate, Like I Do and Maria are her best works in years. A Masterpiece.

    You know, Xtina just wanted to find herself, and I feel it from all of those songs.

    For those who hate it. / don't like it. You say: ,,This is NOT Christina Aguilera!'' but you know what? This IS Christina Aguilera! I feel more of her soul in this album.

    I think she is liberated now and she deserves success. Because this is REAL Aguilera and REAL masterpiece.

    This album is worth the 6 year-hiatus. Xtina truly liberated herself in this masterpiece and has let everyone know HER truth. She showcased her versatility, musicality, vulnerability, strength, weaknesses which, once again, inspired her fans, "fighters". Maria is so good, she and Kanye should work more together. And the last three songs of the album are hands down the BEST.

    This album is genuine and pure. This only shows that Christina Aguilera is an artist who writes music with meat of message and not some songs with melody but no substance. Honestly, i can't pick until now what's my favorite tract/s. All are so good.

    Christina FINALLY dug into the RB/Soul side that best captures her talent - this is right up there with Janelle as one of the top female albums of the year. Awesome job! Pipe, Unless Its With You and Right Moves are the standouts.

    Liberation is something Christina Aguilera has never done before and I do not expect anything less. She is always reinventing herself and her music and to me, she is a true artist. Liberation easily shows off Christina's voice in many different textures and genres. You will not be disappointed.

    This is without a doubt, the most ambitious album i've heard, unfortunately her ambitions don't really work in her favor. I have to give her credit for trying different things, but it is her more common efforts that make this album, good.

    The features are overall weak, with the exception of Demi Lovato and Lauren Evans, Demi surprised me in Fall in line, her vocals and Christina's match almost perfectly.

    So overall, it is a good album, but her experimental efforts don't really pay off the way she was expecting.

    By far this is one of the most creative albums of Christina Aguilera. What we all love in this record is that SHE IS NOT EVEN TRYING with her voice, it is pure and relaxed. She got the idea that she got the voice and everyone know it, so it was time to not to impress anyone as used. Awesome mix of Summer, she clearly know what is the market going to...

    the album definitely has a purpose, flow, and delivers all the different ways in which someone can be "liberated" - creatively, physically, socially and spiritually. She covers the genres she tackles with grace, and you can tell each track _means_ something. Love hearing her go all out.

    I love that in an age of singles, streams, and downloads that Christina Aguilera still makes albums. This is a cohesive work where each intro and song compliments the next.     QUALITY ! The quality of Miss Christina's voice and the way she executes every single note on that old school urban sound makes her one of the best artist ever. I became an instant fan after listen to this album.
    The production and the execution on Accelerate is too ahead of her time. People will eventually understand it later.

Some of the highlights are: "Deserve" - no other female singer could pull off a track such as ||"Deserve"|| the way Christina can. he approach is incredibly confident, yet, there is an immense undertone of defeat: her tone suggest she knows what she’s done wrong, and she wishes to make it right by displaying tremendous vulnerability admitting the reasons as to why she has faltered this way. ||"Accelerate"||, is one of Christina’s strongest lead singles. It does not conform to traditional structures, and it is experimental on all fronts. Yet, it manages to stay cohesive throughout, and above all, one never loses sight of the fact that Xtina is in the song’s driver’s seat. ||"Pipe"|| Though it’s still unclear as to who Christina’s collaborator “XNDA” is on "Pipe" (literally, the internet has no clue), there is little confusion as to this song's brilliance. The track is a smooth jam, with trip-hoppy undertones. It oozes smoothness and warmth. I envision Pipe being the song one plays, when about 70% of one’s party guests have arrived, and the party is about to officially take off. ||"Masochist"|| the 14th track on "Liberation" is yet another exceptional offering. Though it is not about overt Sadomasochism, the song details the painful gratification gained when one stays in a moot relationship. ||"Unless It’s With You"||, is the album’s closer. In this beautifully restrained, blues inspired ballad, Christina details her lack of preoccupation with white picket fences, and the idea of marriage - in fact, she won’t entertain marriage unless it’s with this one special person. Liberation's only weak point is it narrative structure, moving a few of the songs around would result in a much more thematically cohesive record. Additionally, in my opinion, ||"Fall In Line"|| makes such a great impact on its own, that it could do without ||"Dreamers"|| as its intro. But my goodness, it's a very special day today, as we have Christina Aguilera back in artistic mode, officially. As Jon Pareles, of the New York Times states, in his review of "Liberation": A voice like [Aguilera's] has become something like a turntable: a vintage prize, a modern novelty, a niche taste." From the violin-induced intro Liberation, to the heavenly falsetto of the songstress singing where is Maria to the banging collab with the little king of pop "MARIA".     Maria is particularly haunting, it's just gorgeous. The harpsichord, high strings, the beat, the bass, Michael Jackson -sample and Christina's powerful storytelling with her voice, everything is exceptional! I like how it kind of advances like a straight, long road ahead, it's like a mini-journey in itself, fits to the story of the track.

    Sick of Sittin' brings old 60's/70's rock-bands in mind! Especially love the drums, sonically. They're powerful and bring me a genuine stadium concert feel. Christina's diverse voice channels Janis Joplin.

    Dreamers ties together with Fall In Line, presenting young girls with their dreams & aspirations, love the idea. Fall In Line is extremely powerful, in every way. Love the bass line & key change! The message is greatly appreciated, lyrics manage to say something new on the topic of oppression and inequality, and structurally it works.

    Right Moves feat. Keida and Shenseea is such a chill & unique song, I enjoy it! Issa vibe!

    Like I Do: flute and pretty vocals from Christina! Love her riffs and Goldlink's feat. works too.

    Deserve sounds like Christina's voice is "opening up". Also love the melody and how it's structured, bridge really moves me.

    The harmonies of Twice are stunning, wow. Love the piano. Musically it's such an understated song, but Christina displays different textures in her voice.

    I Don't Need It Anymore (Interlude) fits musically with Sick Of Sittin'.

    Accelerate is such a weird track! I like it though. Trap drums and hiphop feel.

    Pipe feat. XNDA was a grower for me. It gets better with each listen. Feature works.

    Masochist is catchy! I found myself humming to it after only one listen. Love the 80's atmosphere.

    Unless It's With You is gorgeous, strong ballad!

    Overall, Liberation offers many surprising ideas and musical moments, Christina's evolution as an artist is apparent. Kudos to this living legend, hope to hear new music sooner than expected.    … Expand

    This album was worth the wait. Christina poured her heart and soul into this album and worked with a great team to deliver a perfect and cohesive album that takes you on her journey of finding herself and finally feeling liberated. I love every song on the album!

'Maria' a track that will certainly be dear among the most faithful fans of aguilera, brings a Christina looking for lost innocence, in a way nothing dramatic and certainly faithful to everything the singer believes and feels. 'twice' another powerful track, shows a xtina wondering why she is where she is, is a painful love letter made for herself, everything she has experienced and her own career. 'accelerate' a track that certainly will not be understood by all, enters as one of the most punctual hit tracks, this of course, if there is adequate disclosure by his record label 'RCA' that always fails with the singer.     this is the comeback all the fans have been waiting for ever since 2010. With lotus, the "comeback" was not as raw, authentic and satisfying as people had hoped.
    Fortunately, with Liberation Christina Aguilera proved that she still owns the throne and she did not and will not disappoint her fans.
    Liberation is definitely one of her best work and out of this world amazing record.

    It´s been 6 years since Christina released her last album Lotus. When Lotus came out I never heard Christina saying that it was the music she wanted to do. Lotus is a masterpiece for me, but at the same time it is really commercial. Liberation goes against all the pressure and manipulation an artist may get from discographies. Liberation according to Christina is an album she always wantedIt´s been 6 years since Christina released her last album Lotus. When Lotus came out I never heard Christina saying that it was the music she wanted to do. Lotus is a masterpiece for me, but at the same time it is really commercial. Liberation goes against all the pressure and manipulation an artist may get from discographies. Liberation according to Christina is an album she always wanted to do.     Her voice shines once again and i believe that there is a song for everybody. I'm really happy to see that listeners have different favourite song from the album.

    What a riveting album from start to finish. A very cohesive album and in my opinion Christina's best album to date. This album is a Story unravelling and Aguilera's emotions are felt through every song. Deserve is heartwrenching, Maria is Stirring and emotional and Unless Its With You the albums closer will have you in tears. And after all was said, sung and heard i came away liberated.

    Liberation never reaches the heights fans likely wanted from Xtina, it serves as a pleasant refresher for a voice that has earned its place in the annals of pop history. That said, it’s a bit sad to feel like her finest moments are, at least for now, also in her past.
