    Not sure if it is because you took six years in between your last album and your new album, or if you’re in a different place in your life, but there’s something very special about “Liberation,” easily one of the year’s best albums though it’s barely been out for a day.

    WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE & TO BE A “DAY ONE” #FIGHTER. Y’all #Liberation had me sobbing at the end with ‘Unless It’s With You’ -NO LIE! Understand from B2B was my ultimate and this song is its better twin. @xtina gave me everything I want & need with this album! I am beyond proud!

To those who always think she is over-singing, give this album a try, so many layers of vocals that prove that she is still the voice of our generation. The songs are so addictive, I have them on replay non-stop. Best album of the year!

    this is the comeback all the fans have been waiting for ever since 2010. With lotus, the "comeback" was not as raw, authentic and satisfying as people had hoped.
    Fortunately, with Liberation Christina Aguilera proved that she still owns the throne and she did not and will not disappoint her fans.
    Liberation is definitely one of her best work and out of this world amazing record.

    We've been waiting for six long years for this incredible album. Christina Aguilera has shown through her carrier a huge musical evolution, and now Liberation is released with such great songs, a mixed of pop, R&B and Soul. Her voice still sounds amazing like when she used to sing on Stripped and Back to Basics era.

    Christina FINALLY dug into the RB/Soul side that best captures her talent - this is right up there with Janelle as one of the top female albums of the year. Awesome job! Pipe, Unless Its With You and Right Moves are the standouts.

    It´s been 6 years since Christina released her last album Lotus. When Lotus came out I never heard Christina saying that it was the music she wanted to do. Lotus is a masterpiece for me, but at the same time it is really commercial. Liberation goes against all the pressure and manipulation an artist may get from discographies. Liberation according to Christina is an album she always wantedIt´s been 6 years since Christina released her last album Lotus. When Lotus came out I never heard Christina saying that it was the music she wanted to do. Lotus is a masterpiece for me, but at the same time it is really commercial. Liberation goes against all the pressure and manipulation an artist may get from discographies. Liberation according to Christina is an album she always wanted to do.     What a riveting album from start to finish. A very cohesive album and in my opinion Christina's best album to date. This album is a Story unravelling and Aguilera's emotions are felt through every song. Deserve is heartwrenching, Maria is Stirring and emotional and Unless Its With You the albums closer will have you in tears. And after all was said, sung and heard i came away liberated.

She redeemed herself from the failures of Lotus and, I hate to say, Bionic (but I will continue to defend the genius of that album and how true of her to say that it was ahead of its time) and delivered a sincere and powerful statement in her new record, Liberation. As a long timeAfter six years of "searching for Maria", Christina Aguilera found her liberty as a creative artist again. She redeemed herself from the failures of Lotus and, I hate to say, Bionic (but I will continue to defend the genius of that album and how true of her to say that it was ahead of its time) and delivered a sincere and powerful statement in her new record, Liberation. As a long time fan, I assumed I knew what I was in for—the raw vocals, the powerful lyric statements, the sensuality—and yes they were all there, but Aguilera managed to surprise me with the new dimensions of her vocals despite me knowing that she can SING ANY GENRE. The hip-hop, r&b (and even a touch of reggae) route she chose as path and the unique production that was arguably out of character for her in most of her albums (save for Stripped), really showed her authentic versatility. She has always been such a risk-taker and a true chameleon in the music industry never settling for the confines of a single one-dimensional genre (despite being a pop star, she has always expressed that pop music is her least favorite), the current fad and sought-out collaborators and producers. Listen to Stripped, Back to Basics, and Bionic in one sitting and you'd know what I mean.... I always try to be constructive with her music and I must say, Aguilera was able to pull all the right stops in this album. I do wish she added a real club banger, and another Lift Me Up ballad. I would love to hear the song(s) she and Linda Perry did that was not able to make it to the final cut. A deluxe edition, anyone? Anyway, tens, tens, tens across the board!… Expand

'Maria' a track that will certainly be dear among the most faithful fans of aguilera, brings a Christina looking for lost innocence, in a way nothing dramatic and certainly faithful to everything the singer believes and feels. 'twice' another powerful track, shows a xtina wondering why she is where she is, is a painful love letter made for herself, everything she has experienced and her own career. 'accelerate' a track that certainly will not be understood by all, enters as one of the most punctual hit tracks, this of course, if there is adequate disclosure by his record label 'RCA' that always fails with the singer. 'sick of sittin' is a track that enters like a rock, it shows aguilera without fear of exposing its displeasure with the falsity of the industry, or even, as some theorize, their dissatisfaction with the 'voice'
    'masochist' is a track that can be interpreted as a broken-hearted song, Aguilera tells her lover that despite this relationship is not good, she can not leave it. There are interpretations that may claim that it speaks to another part of itself. Another track that can be interpreted as a novel or for herself is 'Unless it's with you' that Aguilera sings softly that ''Cause I do not want to get married. Unless it's with you'' shows Aguilera valuing yourself above a marriage and just agreeing to commit if it really is worth it. 'Deserve' is a track that talks about a troubled relationship that makes her wonder if she really deserves to be in it, a song that brings significant aspects of Aguilera. If in the tracks above, we can bring different types of interpretations, in 'Right moves' we can see a light side of aguilera, which risks a song drawn to reggae that could easily be sung by rihanna, this song can bring new looks to who still insists on finding that aguilera continues in its warm zone. Among the interludes, highlight to 'dreamers' that comes before 'fall in line' this interlude brings children (among them, summer, his daughter) saying what they want to be, which brings an inspiring message and prepares the the listeners to feel the message and the power of the lyrics in 'fall in line' I guarantee that if you listen to the interlude 'dreamers' and soon after 'fall in line' you will feel an even greater force that will make you feel that nothing can stop you . the initial instrumental called 'liberation' that was presented at the beginning of the 'fall in line' clip makes you prepare for this album full of concepts that xtina knows how to do like nobody else. Since 'back to basics' that xtina did not launch a work so inspiring and full of questions to ask. For those looking for great hits and cheesy music without content, know that they will waste time, this is not the type of album you are looking for. Christina Aguilera showed the artist again who she is. Maybe now you can enjoy the art of this album and not waste it as they did with 'bionic' Artists like Christina Aguilera, deserves all recognition.     Maria is particularly haunting, it's just gorgeous. The harpsichord, high strings, the beat, the bass, Michael Jackson -sample and Christina's powerful storytelling with her voice, everything is exceptional! I like how it kind of advances like a straight, long road ahead, it's like a mini-journey in itself, fits to the story of the track.

    Sick of Sittin' brings old 60's/70's rock-bands in mind! Especially love the drums, sonically. They're powerful and bring me a genuine stadium concert feel. Christina's diverse voice channels Janis Joplin.

    Dreamers ties together with Fall In Line, presenting young girls with their dreams & aspirations, love the idea. Fall In Line is extremely powerful, in every way. Love the bass line & key change! The message is greatly appreciated, lyrics manage to say something new on the topic of oppression and inequality, and structurally it works.

    Right Moves feat. Keida and Shenseea is such a chill & unique song, I enjoy it! Issa vibe!

    Like I Do: flute and pretty vocals from Christina! Love her riffs and Goldlink's feat. works too.

    Deserve sounds like Christina's voice is "opening up". Also love the melody and how it's structured, bridge really moves me.

    The harmonies of Twice are stunning, wow. Love the piano. Musically it's such an understated song, but Christina displays different textures in her voice.

    I Don't Need It Anymore (Interlude) fits musically with Sick Of Sittin'.

    Accelerate is such a weird track! I like it though. Trap drums and hiphop feel.

    Pipe feat. XNDA was a grower for me. It gets better with each listen. Feature works.

    Masochist is catchy! I found myself humming to it after only one listen. Love the 80's atmosphere.

    Unless It's With You is gorgeous, strong ballad!

    Overall, Liberation offers many surprising ideas and musical moments, Christina's evolution as an artist is apparent. Kudos to this living legend, hope to hear new music sooner than expected.    … Expand

    Christina knocked it out of the park with Liberation! There isn't a bad track on the entire record. The only thing that would have made it even better is if she included "Change" as a bonus track.

    The album brought me to a different world of Miss Aguilera. Not everyone is aware that she doesn't only sing, she tells a story and no one can do it better than herself. I love how the songs were arranged in a way that there was a beginning and a great ending.

    Christina is giving me life with this album. I really feel liberated. Maria is my favorite track so far but others keep growing on me with every listen. Pipe, Deserve, Accelerate are gems! Way to go X.

    QUALITY ! The quality of Miss Christina's voice and the way she executes every single note on that old school urban sound makes her one of the best artist ever. I became an instant fan after listen to this album.
    The production and the execution on Accelerate is too ahead of her time. People will eventually understand it later.

Probably her most cohesive album to date and the most r&b oriented, it is not a cliched kind of r&b though. The amount of original ideas on this album are insane.     I love that in an age of singles, streams, and downloads that Christina Aguilera still makes albums. This is a cohesive work where each intro and song compliments the next. If you want to listen to an album with great vocals, lyrics, excellent production, and versatility look no further than Liberation.

I had no doubt that she will bring something special to this music era which was indeed suffering of inspiration.. it may not be a masterpiece like Back to Basics or Bionic .. but still with Aguilera you cant have trash music..Beautifully well put album.. from the Photoshoots to the music ..     Liberation never reaches the heights fans likely wanted from Xtina, it serves as a pleasant refresher for a voice that has earned its place in the annals of pop history. That said, it’s a bit sad to feel like her finest moments are, at least for now, also in her past.
