This album, Joanne, is not a 'comeback' album. OKAY. JOANNE is an album that speaks about life and all its highs and lows. An album that cuts deep when listening to it because it speaks the truth. It is her best album to date and one of the best albums released this year!

Joanne is the album the world needed, but maybe nobody asked for it. Many expected an album full of danceable hymns, dark themes, perhaps everyone wanted to hear what Gaga could offer according to the musical style of this year, but it was not. Listening to it is very gratifying, it combines the classic with the modern. Joanne's jewels are undoubtedly Come to Mama, Angel Down, Grigio Girls and Hey Girl. Songs that could be singles are Million Reasons, Dancin 'In Circles, John Wayne and A-YO. The album quality is impressive, the collaborations of Lindsey, Ronson and BloodPop are noted. Expand

Whether a casual listener or a “Little Monster,” I would advise the listener to approach “Joanne” as Stefani Germanotta’s first album, rather than Lady Gaga’s fifth. Only once the preconceived notions surrounding the construct of “Gaga” have been eradicated, can a glimpse of the artist herself truly be seen. And the artistry displayed here is truly remarkable. From beginning to end, the listener will embark on a cohesive, musical journey which is bound together by an authenticity that seems nearly impossible for a pop artist to achieve in this day and age. For Gaga’s longtime fans who might encounter difficulty embracing her newest shift in musical direction, the nearly perfect pop track “Dancin’ In Circles” is highly recommended. Additional highlights of the album include fantastically spunky “John Wayne,” heartbreaking ballad "Million Reasons," and the devastating social commentary “Angel Down.” The highly polarizing "Perfect Illusion" is a raw, tortured track, while “Just Another Day” is a light-hearted, lyrically simplistic track with obvious Beatles' influences, which serves as an impeccable closure to the emotional rollercoaster that is "Joanne."

Canciones destacadas: Diamond Heart, A-YO, Joanne, Dancin´ in circles, Hey Girl, Perfect Illusion y Angel Down

It is a multifaceted singer, which broke the POP barrier, found Jazz and now the Country.
Each song explores her vocal power to the fullest, with few beats, sounds like something unheard of Lady Gaga.
It is the most spectacular album, innovator and staff of American singer Lady Gaga.

This is absolutely one of Lady Gaga's best albums, if not THE best one. The only track that is very inappropriate for the album is "Dancin' In Circles", a typical dance song that can remind to the first songs by Shakira. A really bad track. The only track that is very inappropriate for the album is "Dancin' In Circles", a typical dance song that can remind to the first songs by Shakira. A really bad track. By the way, in the other tracks, we can hear a lot of different influences from different genres. The crown jewel of this album is Sinner's Prayer, a country-ish song produced by Gaga herself, Mark Ronson, Bloodpop and Kevin Parker. Now, let's talk about the other song; "Diamond Heart" is a typical Gaga's pop song, nothing more. It is good, but there are better tracks. Not one of my favorites. "A-YO", the second promotional single, is a pop-rock that can remind to a new better version of the hit single "Shake It Off", released in 2014 by Taylor Swift. Not a good choice for a promotional single. The third song in the tracklist is the title track: "Joanne". A beautiful ballad dedicated to her aunt and one of the best songs of this album. Great lyrics and great instrumental. "John Wayne" is the fourth track of this album. It is, kinda, radio-friendly and I wouldn't be surprised if this song would become the second official single. Another crown jewel of this album. For the fifth song of this album, "Dancin' In Circles", I've already reported my opinion. After this, we have the first single, "Perfect Illusion". Maybe the illusion was the concept given by this first single in September? It wasn't a good choice to release that song as the first single, since it is very different from the other tracks of this album. A track out of place. "Million Reasons", another ballad, is one of Gaga's best produced songs from this album. I have a "Million Reasons" to love this track! Incredible.
About "Sinner's Prayer", I've already told my opinion. Outstanding. "Come To Mama" is a great song, not one of the best ones, but still good. In my opinion, this song would fit better as a bonus track on a deluxe version. "Hey Girl", a dance song with the incredible voice of Florence Welch, the singer of the band "Florence + The Machine". Incredible song. Loved it. Now let's talk about the last track of the standard edition: the amazing anthem "Angel Down". One of the best Gaga's songs. Well produced and an amazing work behind the lyrics. It may even make you shed, at least, one or two tears by the end of the track. About the deluxe edition, we have two other songs and an Angel Down work tape. "Grigio Girls" is a great song, there's nothing else to say. "Just Another Day" is THE track of this album! It may even seem a Beatles' song from the White Album. Loved it! So amazing.

9/10, just because of songs like Dancin' In Circles and Perfect Illusion.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of this album after hearing her first single "Perfect Illusion." The single was too shrill, repetitive, and overall unpleasant. It lacked that "gaga" hook or melody. It just wasn't my cup of tea. However, after hearing this album, that song was the weakest. This album showcases Gaga's diversity in genres of music, and truly highlights her musical artistry. Unlike her past albums, this one is more raw and honest. In certain songs like "Ayo," "John Wayne," and "Dancin' In Circles" all have an uptempo and in pounding chorus that is irresistible to not dance. Furthermore, her ballads "Joanne," "Million Reasons," and "Angel Down" are all extremely powerful. They show her broken down, honest, and raw talent, which really shines through. Possibly her most interesting collaboration that she has done, in the song "Hey Girl" makes for a soulful and beautiful girl anthem that will have everyone grooving too. Overall, this album is truly a "rebranding" of the classic Gaga, and a more refined and mature collection of songs that express her beautiful artistry! Expand

Joanne still represents a striking course correction for Lady Gaga. By abandoning the dance club for the dive bar, she may have tossed aside her status as a pop star once and for all. But Gaga has emerged as something better and truer.

Unfortunately, therein lies the biggest problem with Joanne: for every time that Gaga seemingly breaks free of her shackles and embraces something more “real,” she quickly scuttles back into her comfort zone and hides behind glistening production. This probably isn’t quite the sound of the real Stefani Germanotta, but if you squint hard enough there’s a semblance of a real person in amongst the pop haze.

Joanne is certainly not the all-conquering opus it was intended to be and will prove divisive, but it remains a daring and exciting record, delivered from one of modern pop’s most unique and singular voices.
